Chapter 260 Katrina's heart sank. She looked out the window and watched the road ahead. It was obvious they were heading away from the city. Once they left the urban area, her chances of escape would be even slimmer, putting her at a greater disadvantage.

Her mind raced as she tried to cup with a way to escape. But with two men flanking her on either side, she didn't even have the chance to jump out of the moving car.

What other options did she have to save herself? Suddenly, her gaze fell on the driver, and she decided to take a gamble.

She glanced at the two men beside her out of the corner of her eye. When she noticed they were focused on the road ahead and not paying attention to her, she steeled herself. Katrina suddenly lunged at the driver and grabbed the steering wheel with her left hand.

No one had expected her sudden move, and they couldn't react in tto stop her.

The driver, Mark Grant, was startled by her sudden action and slammed his foot on the gas pedal without thinking. The next second, the car shot forward and sped through an intersection, running a red light.

Katrina had noticed that there were hardly any pedestrians or vehicles on this road. They had likely chosen this route to avoid any unexpected incidents.

At the stime, this had given her an opportunity. Seizing the moment, Katrina immediately tried to wrest control of the steering wheel.

Mark snapped out of his shock and gripped the wheel tightly. The car began swerving wildly, lurching left and right. His face paled with fear, and he shouted, "Mrs. Zachman, what are you doing? This is too dangerous! Let go now!" The other bodyguards finally cto their senses and rushed to restrain Katrina, no longer concerned about her status.

"Don't touch me!" Katrina knew this was her only chance. She gripped the steering wheel tightly, refusing to let go. "Giveback my phone and letgo! If I get hurt, do you think Carlisle will let you off?" A flicker of hesitation flashed across the faces of the bodyguards in the back seat.

Katrina knew they wouldn't dare to actually harm her. Otherwise, they would have subdued her from the start, She was about to negotiate with them when Robert suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist.

"Mrs. Zachman, if you keep resisting, we'll have no choice but to be rough with you," he said sternly. Then, he turned to Mark and snapped, "What are you waiting for? Step on the brakes and stop the car now!" Mark cback to his senses and tried to hit the brakes.

Katrina's heart pounded. She feared that if the car stopped, she would be completely at their mercy.

Acting quickly, she yanked hard on the steering wheel. It caused the car to swerve sharply to the left and crash into the roadside barrier. They scraped along the guardrail for several feet before Mark finally regained control. She was about to make a move again when Robert stopped her. He tightened his grip on her wrist and muttered a simple "My apologies".

In an instant, the pain drained the color from Katrina's face. Her wrist felt like it was being crushed, and she couldn't muster her strength to resist at all.

Robert yanked her hand off the steering wheel, and the bodyguards in the backseat immediately pulled her back. They restrained her firmly, not daring to let their attention wander again.

Katrina tried to struggle but couldn't break free no matter how hard she tried Her expression darkened. "Keep a close eye on Mrs. Zachman, and don't let her cause any more trouble," Robert ordered.

He glanced at Katrina and took out his phone, ready to call Carlisle. But about just as he was about to make the call, something caught his eye in the rearview mirror. In that instant, he noticed that a car was quickly catching up from behind.
