Chapter 252 "Who are you?" At the sound of Wren's question, Ryan took a deep breath, forcing a smile as he turned around.
"I'm a colleague of Ms. Salford's. My nis Ryan Chase. May I ask who you are to her?" Ryan asked as his tone was full of subtle probing. He extended his hand as he looked at Wren from head to toe.
As soon as he saw Wren's appearance, he recalled what Nina had mentioned earlier. Realization hit him like a bolt, and he immediately recognized Wren's identity.
His expression shifted, and a flicker of unease crossed his face.

The tension he exuded was heavy, pressing down like an unseen weight. Wren's gaze cut straight through Ryan, leaving him exposed and on edge, as if there was nowhere to hide.
A wave of unease settled over Ryan, and a cold sweat trickled down his back. He hesitated for a moment before awkwardly withdrawing his hand, realizing the gesture was pointless.
"I know who you are," Wren said indifferently. "What were you doing just now?" Hearing his response, both Ryan and Clara were caught off guard.
Wren knew Ryan? Ryan stiffened as unease crept over him. Looking back on his actions just moments ago, he felt a sharp jolt of regret as clarity set in.
This was a hospital. If Clara had screamed, his reputation would have been done for. He had lost his head after being hit, letting his anger cloud his judgment.
No matter what, he couldn't admit to anything. Otherwise...
His gut told him that Wren was not a man he could afford to provoke.
"I heard Ms. Salford was unwell, so I cto check on her. I must have been too anxious and ended up startling her," Ryan spoke with the swarm, easygoing smile he had worn when they first met.
Then, he turned to Clara and said, "Ms. Salford, I was just worried about you. That's all. If there was any misunderstanding, I apologize. Please don't take it to heart." Clara stared at the harmless smile on his face, finding it hard to believe he was the sperson from moments ago.
However, the memory of his gaze from earlier sent a wave of unease through her.

Yet, if she really thought about it, Ryan hadn't actually done anything to her. It was just an instinctive fear she couldn't shake.
Wren turned slightly to look at Clara. Seeing her lower her head in silence, he reached out and gently ruffled her hair.
He gently said, "I'm here, so there's nothing to be afraid of. If he did anything to you, just tell me. I'll take care of it for you."
Ryan froze for a moment at the way Wren spoke to her. As he listened further, his expression shifted. He remembered what Nina had said about Wren and Clara's relationship, along with Wren's mysterious
background. Anyone who could donat@that much to the school was no ordinary person. It was best to En.
avoid provoking him if he could.
Even if Clara was nothing more than a passing fling, as Nina had claimed, the fact that Wren had personally call this way for her meant she held slevel of importance in his eyes. At the very least, if she was his woman, he wouldn't want anyone else touching her until he had completely lost interest.
