Chapter 723 Citrine sat between Monica and Gorman, while Wade took the seat next to Monica. He glared at Monica and Gorman, his resentment practically radiating off him.

The four of them had barely sat down when they drew the attention of everyone in the classroom. The focus, unsurprisingly, was on Gorman, the new face among them; after all, Monica and Wade had been tagging along with Citrine for days now, and their faces were already familiar to everyone.

In the back, a quiet buzz of whispered gossip broke out.

"Who's that new guy sitting with Citrine?" "I know, right? And look at him-so handsome! That jawline, that confidence-like a character straight out of a billionaire romance ." "Maybe he's Citrine's brother? Think about it-if he was her boyfriend or just srandom guy, do you really think her brother would let him sit next to her?" "Ugh, I'm so jealous. Citrine's siblings absolutely dote on her." "Honestly, I envy her siblings even more! Don't forget who Citrine is: chairperson of CICI Group, head of Viridis Medical Institute, director at Crestwood Medical Research Center, and, on top of all that, the bestselling author Obsidian. With credentials like those, anyone would want to spoil her. I think being her sibling would be a dream ctrue." The chatter continued until the professor arrived, putting an abrupt end to the murmurs.

The moment Professor Zachariah walked in, his eyes landed on Citrine and her group. He didn't ask any questions, just went straight into the day's lecture.

Wade, ever the slacker, quickly found himself nodding off as Professor Zachariah droned on and on, his eyelids growing heavier by the minute.

Monica wasn't exactly failing, but while she could handle finance classes, clinical medicine felt like it was written in another language. She stared blankly, understanding nothing, her mind wandering further with each passing minute.

Gorman, though, listened intently. He'd never studied this field before, but he was determined to get something out of it.

Up at the front, Zachariah was in full force, gesturing energetically as he taught, while Monica and Wade looked ready to slide off their seats from boredom.

Zachariah's classes were notoriously challenging, and as the dean of the entire medical school, he was known for being strict. No one dared to misbehave or dozeoff during his lectures.

So, with the rest of the students paying close attention, the sight of Gorman and Wade nearly asleep stood out like a sore thumb. Zachariah's gaze lingered on them for several seconds.

Citrine noticed the shift in atmosphere. Seeing Zachariah glance in their direction, she turned to find Monica fighting to keep her eyes open and Wade already slumped over, fast asleep.

She reached over and poked both of them awake with her finger.

Monica jolted upright, her eyes suddenly sharp. "What's going on?"

fro Gorman, still rubbing sleep from his eyes, lifted his head from the desk and, without missing a beat, murhwithout mumbled, "Citrine, is it lunch tyet?" The classroom erupted into laughter.

Even Zachariah couldn't help but chuckle from the podium.

Citrine could only look at Monica and Wade with a mixture of sympathy arture and amusement. "You two are in so much trouble."

Monica and Wade looked utterly baffled, still trying to figure out what was happening when a commanding voice rang out from the front of the room. "The gentleman and lady to Citrine Carmichael's left-please stand and answer the next question." Zachariah fixed them with a serious, yet encouraging look.
