Chapter 226 Quint was taken aback. That book was notoriously dense and hard to get through, but she had actually finished it? Just as he was about to ask more, Tiffany walked over. "Mr. Harrow, I didn't get the chance to greet you earlier." Quint turned to her and responded, "Ms. Moore." They had met a few times during her visit to Holt Corporation with Mason.
Evelyn still did not spare Tiffany a glance and finished the last line of her notes. Tiffany, too, did not look at her. "When is Jason arriving?" she asked.
Quint responded, "Mr. Lewis mentioned that Mr. Holt would be arriving before the evening. Is there anything you need from him, Ms. Moore?" Tiffany flashed a soft smile. "Yes, Lucas and I are having dinner with him later. His phone is turned off, so he's probably on his way." Evelyn did not care about what they were talking about and walked off to listen to the presentation on the international advancement of aerospace technology.
After she left, Tiffany asked, "Mr. Harrow, what were you two talking about just now?" She did not miss Quint's joyful expression when he conversed with Evelyn.
Quint pondered for a moment before answering enthusiastically, "I asked Ms. Reed a couple of questions, and she was very-" "I see," Tiffany interjected. "I'll be heading over now, Mr Harrow." Asking her questions? Tiffany naturally did not believe it.
At most, Quint was just being polite, so Tiffany would not bother listening any further.
Quint could not grasp Tiffany's shift in attitude, but he did not dwell on it either. He looked at Evelyn's retreating figure. If only someone like her worked in his company.
That evening, Evelyn received a call from Deborah.
She knew Evelyn was in Pearlia and asked her to buy stargeted medication for Leonard, which was in short supply in Clementon.

Evelyn agreed to it and told Sebastian she was going out.
As she walked through the lobby, she happened to run into Lucas, who was on his phone.
With his other hand in his pocket, his gaze lifted slightly and caught sight of Evelyn's figure.
She looked like she was in a hurry.
Lucas hung up after giving instructions to the person on the other end. "Where are you headed? I'll have someone take you there," he said with a steady voice.
Evelyn pulled her coat tighter and responded, "None of your concern, Mr. Grant." Lucas raised his brow, watching her disappear out the door.
She turned him down just like that, flat and cold, with not another word spared.
He stood there for a moment, deep in thought, until Tiffany called.
"Yeah, I'm coming up." He turned and walked back in.
Evelyn stepped out to hail a cab, only to realize how hard a task that was around here.
After 20 minutes of waiting, she still had no luck.
She was just about to ask the hotel if they could arrange a car for her when a Range Rover pulled up in front of her.
Jason was behind the wheel.
Evelyn remembered Quint mentioning that Jason would be arriving in Pearlia that evening.
He looked at her, saying, "You won't get a ride here." After a pause, he added with a quiet cough, "I happen to be heading out, so I can drive you there." Evelyn hesitated. Twas tight, and the hospital would be closing soon.
In the end, she nodded. "Thanks, Mr. Holt." Jason smirked slightly.
Evelyn gave him the address after getting in the car and did not say another word.
He adjusted the air conditioning to be a little warmer. "I visited my doctor friend. He said he can meet you on the 20th." Evelyn had not expected him to really make it work.

Jason gripped the steering wheel and responded, "You're welcome." She did not respond again. Perhaps it was because of Jason's steady driving, but she soon felt sleepy.
Jason gave her a sideways glance, noticing her serene and fair face.
She must have applied slip balm as her lips looked soft and plump, like a flower blossoming in spring.
He blinked and gulped out of nowhere.
A buzz from a phone snapped him out of it. Gathering his thoughts he suddenly wondered why he was En acting so strangely.
Jason pressed his thumb against the bridge of his nose massaging it before picking up the phone to check.
It was Lucas.
His expression did not change as he stared at the name.
Then, he declined the call.
