Chapter 197 Jason also found it rather intriguing and urged, "Go on, tell us." Mason glanced at Tiffany and then gave Evelyn a meaningful look. "There are only two ladies here. How about a little competition between the two in golf?" Evelyn paused and looked up. She noticed that everyone was looking at her. Tiffany said in an ambiguous tone, "Mason, you sure have swild ideas." Mason shrugged. "We've already played a few rounds, and we all want to see you two go head-to-head. Right, Lucas?" Lucas looked up at him. "You really should ask the ladies what they think." Tiffany toyed with her golf club. With confidence in her eyes, she said, "I have no problem with it." The question naturally fell to Evelyn. She calmly withdrew her gaze and said, "I'm not very good at golf." She wasn't about to force herself into it. Of course, she understood exactly what Mason intended. He knew that Tiffany was skilled in golf and could easily outshine her. He probably thought that under everyone's watchful eyes, Evelyn would agree to compete with Tiffany out of spite.
"Even if you're not very good, you should at least know the basic rules, right?" Mason pressed. He left her no way to decline as he continued, "It's just a practice round. And if you're not comfortable, we can always play doubles. You guys can each pick a partner." He left absolutely no leeway for Evelyn to say no, making her frown.
She turned her head and saw Donald looking very pleased with Mason arranging the activity. Thus, out of a sense of decorum, she eventually decided not to kill the mood.

Then, he looked at Tiffany with an ambiguous expression. "As for Tiffany, that's a given. She's definitely going with Lucas," he remarked.
Lucas lounged casually, smiling faintly without commenting. It was obvious he was gto team up with Tiffany. Seeing that, Tiffany chuckled and gave Mason a reproachful look.
Jason, being in the know, gave Evelyn a complicated look, but she just kept her eyes down as if it were none of her concern.
Suddenly, Donald asked, "Isn't that unfair? Who doesn't know that Mr. Grant is excellent at golf? I haven't even beaten Mr. Grant. Arranging it this way is just setting Ms. Reed up to lose." He waved his hand. "Let's draw lots. Drawing lots is the fair way to do it." Mason cleared his throat. "Alright then." Evelyn was uninterested in the competition, but she still drew a lot. However, when everyone saw that the number on her ball matched Lucas', their expressions changed noticeably.
Meanwhile, Tiffany ended up drawing Mason.
Mason frowned, saying, "This has to be a mistake! Let's redo it." Tiffany suddenly said, "It's alright. Let's keep it this way." She didn't seem angry in the slightest.
Her gaze skipped over Evelyn, and she raised her eyebrows at Lucas. With a confident smile, she said, "Lucas, let's see which one of us can get a higher score. I won't go easy on you." Even though it was a doubles match, to her, it felt like a playful little gbetween her and Lucas. The glances they exchanged spoke volumes, and it was as if nothing else in the world mattered.

Mason looked at Tiffany with admiration. She was so confident, om gracious, radiant, and attractive. She was no ordinary woman. She couldn't be bothered with petty rivalries or jealousy. No wonder Lucas wasn't interested in the cold and dull Evelyn. After all, who would like an incompetent and uninteresting woman?
Evelyn didn't care about what they were doing. She simply went off to adjust her formet had been a while since she last played golf, and her technique was noticeably rusty. Tiffany and Mason worked well together while Lucas handled his shots effortlessly.
As for Evelyn, she swung her club calmly and steadily.
After Lucas sank another ball, he finally cast a sideways glance at Evelyn. Then,
he walked over, leaned in slightly, and gently grasped Evelyn's wrist while letting his other hand fest softly on her lower back. Fixing his gaze on her face, he said unhurriedly, "Don't be nervous." He added, "And if you're having a hard time, you're more than welcto call for me."
