Elgado's true motive for preventing Emiliano from killing Jared was to gain possession of the latter's

Feeling overwhelmed with grief and self-blame, she hated that her weakness had caused so much

with a weak smile.

“Keep an eye on them and make sure they don't get away!” Emiliano commanded his men to watch

over Jared and Skyler, then trailed after Elgado to the Spirit Connecting Tree, pondering their strategy

to acquire the Spirit Connecting Fruit.
