Chapter 1140 A True Immortal
A blinding light flashed at the appearance of the bead as a blissful force enveloped Jared.
“Is this my golden elixir?” Jared gazed in disbelief at the bead before him. The blissful force emanating
from it made him feel at ease.
Upon being illuminated by the warm light, the biting cold steel chains and the howls of damned souls
froze abruptly before slithering back beneath the earth.
With the return of the steel chains into the earth, the dragons gave a final roar before disappearing
within Jared.
Skylar frowned, his eyes filled with astonishment at the shimmering bead before him.
As he did not know what a golden elixir was, Skylar thought it was just another magical item that Jared
possessed because he had too many to keep track of.
Every item is a priceless treasure, from the Dragonslayer Sword to the Storage Ring and from the

Skylar’s eyes were bloodshot with envy.
“When you die, Jared, all your treasures will belong to me!”
As Skylar spoke, the black halo above his head glowed as it brimmed with murderous intent.
Like a laser beam, the black light destroyed everything it pierced.
In response, Jared raised his hands slowly, and the golden elixir fell slowly into his palm.
Pulses of gentle power surrounded Jared and solidified into the golden elixir, representing the
commencement of his journey to spiritual energy cultivation.
This gentle power must be spiritual power!
With a graceful wave of his hand, Jared sent the pulsating sphere of raw power toward the black light.
The prospect of a collision between two opposing forces capable of armageddon was frightening.
However, the earth-shattering scenario one expected did not occur. There was not even a sound.
Upon contact, the black light disappeared completely. After a prolonged bout of uncontrollable
vibrating, the black halo above Skylar’s head crumbled into dust.
“What…”
Skylar’s eyes widened in shock, not daring to believe his own eyes.
He did not know that the bead in his adversary’s hand was capable of such power.
“What sort of magical item do you have there?” Skylar asked Jared despite himself.
Jared gazed at his golden elixir and chuckled lightly. “I’ll tell you when you’re dead.”
Jared opened his mouth and swallowed the golden elixir. Then, the blissful force disappeared.
Skylar gazed at Jared in disbelief, convinced for a brief moment that the man before him was a true
immortal.
“Your formation doesn’t seem to be able to do much. It can’t even hold down a mortal such as myself.”
After Jared spoke, golden light bathed his right hand, which he aimed at Skylar.

Despite the mercy Jared had shown Skylar earlier, the latter did not appreciate it. Jared had no other
option than to deal the lethal blow.
Skylar had never felt so frightened as he did when he sensed the terrifying aura approaching him. His
resolve to continue his duel with Jared suddenly crumbled.
He had no more tricks up his sleeve. Only death awaited him if he remained.
Skylar reached into his breast pocket and extracted the Necro Ring.
As soon as Jared caught sight of Skylar’s movement, he knew immediately that the latter intended to
escape.
His body disappeared in a flash as he aimed a ferocious slap at his foe.
Boom!
Jared’s slap struck Skylar on the chest and sent him flying backward instantly.
Gritting his teeth to endure the pain in midair, Skylar flung the Necro Ring out of his hand.
A black portal appeared the next moment out of thin air, which Skylar fell straight through and
vanished.
“D*mn it! He escaped!” Jared cursed as he secretly envied Skylar for having the Necro Ring in his
possession. If he had a magical item of space manipulation, he, too, would be able to escape when he
ran into danger.
