"What is it?" I asked the king.

He opened the box and showed its contents to me. lying inside against the plush velvet interior was a necklace.

A dainty gold chain, studded with tiny glittering gems, and the pendant that hung from it.

My eyes widened as I saw the pendant. It caught light and reflected a dozen brilliant hues. It seemed to be made out more than one stone, each part of it dazzling.

"It's a rare diamond native to these lands. There is only one of this necklace in the entire world. And it was crafted by hand, with love." "It's beautiful,” I said. I hadn't ever been one for jewelry in the past, but this was one stunning piece.

"Its yours," The king said.

My heart fluttered. “But I, it's beautiful, yes.” "It's a token of my appreciation to you." He said and glanced at the necklace "Appreciation? Did I do something good that I don't remember?"
