Chapter 712
But that doesn’t give anyone the right to shamelessly insult Isaac in front of her!
“All right then.” Wesley hung up the phone.
Brittany stopped concerning herself with the matters of the Salter family, and fully immersed herself in her work.
The Dustin Group was then back on track, and Joseph came knocking.
The tension that had initially been present was soon gone. Joseph brought a document with him and said, “The
shares I promised you.”
Joseph hadn’t expected that Brittany would be so ruthless, using herself as bait to trap her enemy.
Upon his arrival in Imperial City, he had quickly come to an agreement with Brittany. He wanted that piece of land,
and Brittany needed an opportunity to get close to Isaac and gather enough evidence to take him down.
Brittany flipped open the document. It was a 10% stake in Grandeur Capital.
“Let’s keep these shares under wraps for now.” Brittany signed the share agreement.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtJoseph rubbed his temples and said, “I understand. As far as the public is concerned, these shares are mine.”
Brittany cast an extra glance at Joseph, “I met the Martinez family on a business trip recently. Isn’t Stella’s
bodyguard also from the Martinez family?”
“Enough. The guy ran off Joseph was the type of person who enjoyed a good show “Stella was furious.”
Thomas Martinez had run off, and despite Stella spending a good amount of money, she couldn’t track him down. It
seemed he was determined to escape!
Brittany knew that in the world of the rich and powerful, marriage was often a matter of political arrangement.
Moreover, the Thome family had plenty of sons and daughters. If Stella Thorne was disobedient, she could have
easily been cast aside by her family, rendering all her years of effort wasted.
Stella wasn’t the type to give up everything for love, and neither was Joseph.
“Your engagement party is coming up. You should get back.”
In front of others, it was better for them to keep their distance.
Because of a few words from Brittany, the news about Mr. Adams spread like wildfire. The dining table was
significantly quieter, as no one wanted to offend Brittany over idle gossip.
Brittany enjoyed the peace. She deliberately ignored any news regarding the Salter family.
Ever since Isaac was discharged from the hospital, he hadn’t shown his face to her.
Daniel had seen him a few times, but that was at school.
Isaac’s avoidance pleased Brittany. She didn’t have to be on edge like before, and if he could have signed the
divorce papers, that would have been even better.
He refused to sign, so Brittany took advantage of a moment when he came to see Daniel, catching Isaac off guard.
“Let’s talk.” After not seeing him for nearly half a month, Brittany noticed that the sharpness in Isaac’s eyes had
softened, replaced by a profound quietude.
Daniel was nestled in his arms. Seeing Brittany approaching, he carefully disentangled himself, as if afraid she
would have been upset, and called out, “Mom.”
“Daniel, go play for a while. Mom and Dad need to talk.”
Seeing that his mother wasn’t angry, Daniel heaved a sigh of relief and left.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBrittany turned to Isaac, “When do you plan on signing the divorce papers?”
She didn’t want to take it to court, especially with Daniel around.
“Is there nothing else we can discuss between us?” Isaac had been avoiding Brittany precisely because he didn’t
want to talk about that matter, but Brittany was relentless.
Brittany stared at him and asked, “What do you think?”
Isaac gazed at her clear, petite face, realizing she was serious about wanting a divorce. A pang shot through his
heart.
“I don’t want a divorce.”
“Then should we go to court?” Brittany frowned, “Daniel is still here, and I don’t want to make a scene. Don’t push
me.”
Isaac suddenly said, “I’m sorry.”
Brittany frowned, not understanding why he was apologizing.
“What do you mean?”
Why was he apologizing out of the blue?
“I arranged our marriage behind your back because I was afraid you and William would end up together. I wanted
to keep you by my side.” Isaac apologized sincerely, “I panicked back then, I thought about everything except how
you would feel…”
