Chapter 52
Once they reached the hotel room, Marissa swiped the room card and turned to the staff with irritation. "Why
aren't Dominick and I on the sfloor?"
Dominick and Grayson had been placed in the top-floor presidential suite, while Marissa had been assigned to an
executive business suite two floors below, alongside Julian and the other guests and classmates.
The staff member gave an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, Ms. Prescott. We only have three presidential suites in
total. One is occupied by Mr. Beaumont, and another is reserved for Mr. Vanderbilt."
"What about the third one?" Marissa pressed, unwilling to let it go.
David maintained a polite smile and patiently explained, "The third suite has been set aside for a very important
guest, per Mr. Beaumont's instructions."
Hearing that, Marissa clenched her jaw, annoyance flashing in her eyes. She couldn't fathom who this so- called
important guest could be, someone deemed more significant than her.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMarissa had chere with a clear purpose-to create the image of a close and intimate relationship between
herself and Dominick in front of everyone.
She wanted the world to believe she was destined to becthe future Mrs. Vanderbilt. But now, she didn't
even have the privilege of staying on the sfloor as Dominick.
Just then, Alexis joked with a grin, "Oh, con. Marissa and Dominick are practically family already. Why not
just share a room?"
She figured that since they were getting married soon anyway, sharing a room shouldn't be an issue. For all she
knew, they might have already crossed that line long ago.
Judging by the expressions around the room, it was obvious that Alexis wasn't the only one thinking this way
everyone else seemed to have the sassumption.
Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Marissa turned to Dominick, hoping he would let her share a room with
him.
She figured the presidential suite was spacious enough, with more than one bedroom. It didn't matter which
room she slept in as long as they shared the skey card.
But to Marissa's surprise, Dominick shook his head and said, "It's not appropriate for Marissa to share a room
with me."
Even though he saw Marissa as a younger sister, he knew she wasn't his real sister, and that distinction
mattered to him. Besides, he wouldn't even share a room with Kayla-there were still boundaries between men
and women.
Dominick's response nearly made the smile freeze on Marissa's face. Even Alexis, who had been teasing
moments ago, felt the awkwardness and quickly clammed up.
"Uh... Dom's right," Marissa said stiffly, trying to smooth things over. "It really wouldn't be appropriate forto
share a room with him right now."
Then, forcing a smile, she turned to Alexis. "Hey, we haven't caught up in ages. | have so much to tell you. Why
don't you stay in my room tonight? It'll be like an old-school sleepover-we can talk all night."
With that one sentence, Marissa dispelled the tension in the room. Alexis smiled and agreed readily- getting to

Dominick nodded. "Alright then. Sonny and | will head up first." Marissa watched as the elevator doors carrying
Dominick and Grayson slid shut, and her smile finally disappeared. Her face turned cold.
"I wonder who that VIP is," Alexis muttered, now gossiping with the others. "Nathaniel actually reserved the
presidential suite for them."
Another chimed in, "I heard from Nathaniel's assistant that back when he was in Lynford, he was really into
horseback riding. He even invested in last year's international equestrian competition. For the opening gala, he's
gone all out and invited last year's three-day eventing champion."
