Chapter 202

Eloise didn't want to go to his place.

But she had even less inclined to have a candlelit dinner or indulge in romantic gestures with him. It didn't suit

them.

She held her mobile, staring at her office desk.

Finally, she muttered, "Alright, I'll be off work in half an hour."

Eloise hung up the phone.

She pulled out several thick folders, all packed into her briefcase, still feeling not enough so she added some

more.

Stepping out of the office building, Harvey's car was already there.

Lately, he always drove a black Maybach.

Seeing Eloise coming, he got out of the car and opened the passenger door for her. His eyes swept over her

hand, his smile seeming like a tease, "Working so hard on the weekend? You have no personal life at all."

His tone always carried a hint of mockery.

Eloise pretended not to notice. She got in the car and buckled her seatbelt, then turned to him and said, "Things

have been pretty busy lately. By the way, Veronica and Gunner are getting a divorce, thank you."

Harvey clearly didn't want to talk about that couple. He looked ahead and said, "Let's go to your apartment and

pick up Milo. That pup is probably bored to death."

Eloise didn't object.

He drove to her apartment, and Eloise went upstairs to get Milo.

Once Milo got in the car, he barked at Harvey a couple of times.

Harvey didn't take the bait, only said, "Why does he always dislike me? | was the one who brought him home."

Eloise patted the dog's head, "Perhaps because you're both males, and alike."

She said with a slight smile.

Harvey's gaze darkened.

It had been a long tsince Eloise had smiled like this in front of him. Her gentle smile was as beautiful to him

as the melting of the first snow.

He couldn't help but want to kiss her.

Eloise probably noticed that. She reined in her smile, quietly staring ahead.

Harvey gave a light chuckle, lightly stepping on the accelerator, heading towards the villa.

The standalone villa he now lived in had a total area of over 2000 square meters, located in a prcity location.

It was a top-notch mansion.

After parking the car, Harvey unbuckled his seatbelt, casually saying, "There's no regular housekeeper here.

Dinner will be prepared by someone from the main house, and it will probably be ready in an hour."

Eloise nodded.

Harvey got out of the car, and took Milo's leash, "I'll walk the dog to build srapport. You can sit in the living

room."

Eloise looked at the sprawling lawn.

Milo would probably be happy.

She walked into the living room, taking advantage of the downtto work on sfiles. A servant brought her

coffee. Eloise recognized them as people from the Horigan family's main house. She quietly thanked them

without being overly friendly.

In the early summer of July, the days were hot and long.

After walking Milo, Harvey was drenched in sweat. But he still decided to give Milo a bath first.

The dog stood on the lush green lawn, grinning with his teeth exposed.

He looked utterly happy.

Harvey patted the dog's rear, letting him go play, while he himself walked into the main hall.

The living room was quiet, with Eloise working.

Harvey was unwilling. He walked over, drenched in sweat, leaned over and lightly nibbled at the skin of her neck,

his teeth grinding against her skin. "Ms. Laurent, you're so busy."

Eloise looked up, and saw his handsfeatures.

Harvey closed her files for her, "Take a break."

Before Eloise could say anything, he had already gotten up and started walking towards the second floor. He

unbuttoned his shirt as he went, shaking off the water droplets from his damp hair. His casual look was indeed

very sexy. Eloise was noticeably stunned.

A house with a lawn, a small dog, and a handsmaster. She had once envied this scene countless times. But

now that it was in front of her, she wasn't that excited.

After Harvey took a shower and cdownstairs, he saw Eloise sipping her coffee.

It looked like she just worked in a different place.

He didn't correct her. After all, they hadn't been together for a long time, and she was very resistant to him in

her heart. Even though she was always cold to him during the day, they had to share a bed at night. That was

something Harvey insisted on.

Weekend nights were for intimacy.

But they were both working overtime. Even Milo had lost his excitement, while its owners were still working.

One in the study, the other in the living room.

Late at night, Harvey finally cout of the study.

Eloise was also getting ready to take a shower and go to bed. The living room

door opened, and their gazes met in a way that was hard to interpret.

They had lived together.

This scene was a reminder of the passionate moments they had shared. Especially for Harvey, he wanted to hold

her.

As Eloise turned around, he gently caught her slender wrist.

She stiffened slightly.

Harvey held her from behind, lowering his head to nibble on her delicate neck. It

had been a while for him; even his breathing was suppressed.

After a long moment of tenderness, he lifted her in his arms and placed her on the black sheets.

He tried everything to please her.

But just as he was about to enter her, Harvey saw a tear at the corner of Eloise's

eye.

She didn't want this.

Harvey propped himself up with one hand. He looked at her, asking gently, "Why are you crying?"

Eloise felt embarrassed.

She turned her face away, the corner of her eye moist.

Harvey gently wiped away her tears, but unable to let go of her, he leaned in and kissed her for a long time.

It wasn't until he reached his limit that he got off the bed and went into the bathroom.

When he cback, he held her from behind, "If you don't want to, we won't do it, okay?"

Eloise didn't make a sound, as if she had fallen asleep.

But he knew she wasn't asleep. She just didn't want to talk to him. She was different from before. She wasn't

angry but she was cold towards him, deliberately avoiding interacting with him.

Harvey didn't force her, he held her and slept through the night.

In the early morning, Eloise's phone rang.

She was just waking up, feeling a bit groggy, and she fumbled around for a moment. Eventually, she realized

that it was Harvey handing her the phone.

Eloise was lying in bed.

But Harvey was already up, getting dressed by the bed.

He smiled faintly, "It's Veronica's call, why don't you pick it up?"

Eloise quickly picked up the call.

Veronica called to invite Eloise to her wedding. As she was pregnant and it was her second marriage, they didn't

want to make a big deal out of it. The Colman family was keeping it low-key, only inviting close family and a few

close friends.

Eloise sat up, offering Veronica her congratulations.

Veronica didn't know about her deal with Harvey, and told her honestly, "It's just a simple meal to make

everything official."

Eloise could empathize with Veronica's state of mind.

After all the hullabaloo created by Gunner, even the most anticipated of romances could wane somewhat.

Veronica and Riley would have to take their tdigesting all this.

Eloise didn't say much, only promised that she'd definitely be there.

As she hung up the phone, she noticed Harvey watching her, a tie in his hand as

if waiting for something.

In a soft voice, Eloise admitted, "I want to attend Veronica and Riley's wedding reception."

Harvey held one end of his tie, pondering for a moment before continuing to tie it

as if it was the most natural thing in the world. "Riley invitedtoo. So, are you implying that only one of us

can go because you're afraid of people finding out about us?"

Eloise did not deny this.

Suddenly, Harvey yanked off his tie, his gaze fixed on Eloise, his tone considerably colder. "I won't say anything.

Nobody will know about us." After saying that, he turned and went downstairs.
