eet Submission Reclaiming Her Love
Chapter 61 Pushing For Marriage
Corynn still vividly remembered the events of the night she nearly died a second time.
Just when she thought it was all over, Elliot appeared like a knight in shining armor, yanking Tyree away and
removing the pillow from her face, allowing her to finally breathe.
She was disoriented from the lack of oxygen, accompanied by a fit of violent coughing
Despite this, she could clearly hear what sounded like Tyree being beaten and Elliot shouting angrily.
The next thing she knew, a pair of strong arms embraced her and held her close.
It was a comforting, familiar embrace, one that evoked a long-forgotten sense of security. For a brief moment,
Corynn almost felt a pang of yearning
But it lasted only a moment.
She had been scared out of her wits; it was only natural that she felt indebted to her savior. If Jason was the one

Hearing this from Corynn, Jason let out a slight sigh of relief. Deep down, he harbored a selfish hope that Corinne
would never get involved with that bastard Elliot ever again.
But hopes and reality were two very different things.
“Corynn, | know it’s not my place, but | have to say something,” Jason said solemnly. “Elliot's engaged. You'd
better stay away from him.”
Corynn responded with a noncommittal grunt of acknowledgment.
“Ill station bodyguards at your hand workplace. From now on, you'd better not drive to and from work
alone. Also, always remain vigilant and keep an eye out for danger. Don’t give anyone the opportunity to hurt
you, understood?” Jason ticked off his fingers one by one.
He knew that Corynn was aware of all this, but he couldn't help but nag
her.
“Understood,” Corynn nodded patiently.
“Now, you should get srest. Don’t worry about work for the tbeing. Your Dad and | will handle
everything. Just focus on getting better, okay?” Jason reassured her.

By now, Corynn’s burns had scabbed over. Except for the severe burn on her calf, which might leave a scar, her
other injuries were healing quite nicely.
Glancing at Corynn’s injured leg, Jason remarked, “I know a renowned dermatologist. Once you're better, I'll
take you to see him.”
“Sounds good,” Corynn said.
Jason offered her a warm smile before leaving; he didn’t want to keep her up for too long.
As soon as he shut the door behind him, Corynn felt as though all her strength had been sucked out of her, and
she slumped back into bed, feeling out of sorts.
Shirley walked in shortly after, wearing a bright smile. “Seems like you two had a good talk. Jason looked quite
pleased when he left.”
Corynn shot her mother a helpless look. “Could you be here the next the visits?”

She always felt pressured whenever she was alone with Jason. Despite wanting to avoid indebting herself to
Jason, the opposite kept happening and she found herself growing increasingly in debt to him.
“I don’t want to owe other people too many favors,” Corynn grumbled under her breath.
Shirley held her hand and said earnestly, “Corynn, you're not getting any younger. It’s tto think about your
future. If you really feel that guilty, then why not marry him? Then you wouldn't feel indebted to him anymore;
you'd be family.”
However, Shirley's proposed solution left Corynn feeling even more helpless. “Mom, what on earth are you
talking about?”
“I'm serious! Jason has been by your side for years. Don’t you understand how he feels about you? Your father
and | have both seen what kind of man he is, and we like him. Besides, you can’t stay single forever.” Shirley
dotingly tucked a stray strand of hair behind Corryn’s ear.
Corynn massaged her temples, feeling a headache coming on. “But Mom, | can’t have kids. If | marry Jason, it'd
end the Reid family line.”
“Oh, please!” Shirley chastised lightly. “Jason obviously doesn’t mind, so why should you? Besides, with all the
latest medical advancements, who knows? Maybe your infertility can be treated!”
Corynn covered her ears, not wanting to hear any more of this nonsense.
