Chapter 646 Steal The Limelight
With a half smile on her face, Bailey lifted her brow at Raiden at the medical base beside the artificial lake. “Are you
a winged creature? You were at Dellmoor last night. How are you here in Hallsbay now?”
Raiden laughed upon hearing Bailey's sarcastic remarks. He teased, “I have no choice, as I have someone I love
here. No matter where I go, I will always miss this place.”
Bailey rolled her eyes at his response.
Straightforward as he is, Raiden didn't bother to phrase his words more tactfully. I guess he doesn't care whether I
can take it or not.
Bailey glared at Raiden and changed the subject. “I heard something happened to your dad. How is he now? Is he
okay?”
Sloan was an important leader, and his safety was the priority. If anything happened to him, it would shock the
nation.
Raiden's smile slowly vanished after hearing the mention of Sloan's name. “He fell sick abruptly because he was
under so much pressure, and it overburdened his body. Although he can still hold on, his condition is deteriorating.”
He continued, “As my dad had just gotten into power, he had many things that he wanted to achieve. He would
never listen to our advice to put everything behind him and rest at home. Ultimately, I think his body will only get
weaker from working through the day and night.”
Bailey nodded. “Maybe find ways to relieve his stress levels? Since the power transfer had been done, and
everything is going according to plan, he does not have to spread himself thin now.”
Raiden smiled bitterly, shaking his head. “I won't have to worry about him so much if he would listen to my advice!

Bailey arched her brow upon hearing what he said. She realized why Raiden was in Hallsbay.
He must be here for me. And why so? I think I have guessed it.
“Hypnotist? That's too risky. You and I both know how an internationally famous top-tier hypnotist can establish a
mental bridge to communicate with their patients. Mr. Fletcher's mind is full of the country's confidential
information. If an ill-intentioned outsider manages to decrypt the essential information in his brain, the
consequences would be devastating!”
Raiden smiled.
Hey, why is she so direct? I can't keep her in suspense after she said that.
“So I take it that you guessed my purpose of looking for you here. I shall not keep you guessing, you wise woman.
Bailey, I want to know the whereabouts of the best hypnotist, Ethereal. Can you tell me where she is?”
Bailey eyed Raiden with a half smile. She raised her brow. “Why are you sure that Ethereal won't steal confidential
information stored in your dad's brain? You don't know her, so why do you trust her? It's hard to tell what a person
is thinking. Moreover, she is a stranger with a strange personality. This may be a bad idea as it is very risky. I would
advise you to get rid of that thought right now. Don't cause any trouble!”
Raiden gave her a side-eye as he smiled faintly. “Why? Are you scared that you will be implicated in this matter if
anything goes wrong? Are you afraid that we will find trouble with you if Ethereal steals the confidential information
in my dad's mind?”
Bailey rolled her eyes in response.
Reverse psychology, huh? I'm not one to fall for this trick.
“All right. I shall agree to your request if you would not take no for an answer. Give me three days, and I'll give you
an answer then.”
“It will be great if you excel in hypnosis. Then, I don't have to hire Ethereal to do this for me. After all, we are good
friends, and we trust each other. If I have to choose between you and Ethereal, I will choose you without any
questions asked!” Raiden grinned.
Bailey waved her hands dismissively as she walked back into the house. “Forget it. Your mom hates me. She won't
think twice about skinning me alive! If I'm tasked to hypnotize your dad, she would be the first to oppose the idea. I
will not subject myself to that kind of humiliation. Nobody wants to do such an arduous and thankless job. Neither
do I!”
Thoughts flashed across Bailey's mind. I have a few acquaintances that are great at hypnosis, and I'll get them to
work with Mr. Fletcher. Even though Raiden worries that the hypnotists will steal his dad's confidential information, I
trust my friends. They can replace me, for I don't wish to reveal my identity as Ethereal!
As the public heard the rumor that Ethereal had mastered a long-lost skill—the dream-making technique, it would
cause an uproar if Ethereal presented her talent before the public eye.
Moreover, Bailey didn't want to steal the limelight anymore. She only wanted to live her life peacefully and quietly.
A tenderness flashed across Raiden's eyes as he stared at Bailey's back. He was serious about Bailey being the one
he loved.
Even though he still had a long life to live, he knew there was a high possibility that he would never be attracted to
another woman like how he had fallen in love with Bailey.
He couldn't help thinking to himself. Yes, although I met her too late in my life, which caused me many
disappointments, I don't regret knowing her. Only those who had fallen deeply in love will know how I feel now. I
know for a fact that no other woman can make her the way I love and care for Bailey. Protecting her quietly isn't a

wished she could.
“Why are you still standing there? Come inside! The weather is freezing out there!” The sound of Bailey's sweet
voice pulled Raiden back into reality.
He shook his head. “I've got to go visit Scarlett next.”
Realization dawned on Bailey.
Oh, I guess she had already done IVF? Maybe she is waiting for the right time to hold Justin responsible for her
pregnancy. Judging by how snobbish Mrs. Xuereb is, she will definitely ask Scarlett to stay at the Xuereb residence
and force Justin to marry her.
Gosh. How pathetic! Scarlett has become another version of Shirley! With her title as Lady Scarlett, a great future
awaits her if she can put her obsession behind her. Scarlett ruined her advantages by compulsively going after
something she shouldn't be seeking for! I can already imagine her tragic end. Yet, I don't pity her at all.
At the hotel, sympathy filled Raiden as he stood at the suite entrance, narrowing his eyes at Scarlett, who looked all
skin and bones.
Oh my! What happened to Lady Scarlett, who came from a wealthy, prestigious family? Why must she torture
herself for a man who doesn't love her?
“Dad is sick. Are you going to return to Dellmoor with me or not?”
A glint flashed across Scarlett's eyes. She gritted her teeth. “Will I be safe if I head back? Won't you send me to jail
then?”
Raiden shook his head. “You harmed others because of your selfishness, and I can't forgive you on behalf of those
victims, so I will still send you to the court for justice!”
