Chapter 630 The Bodies Are Gone
A divorce agreement? Lionel's fingers froze momentarily, and he stared at Joel with narrowed eyes.
The latter felt chills running down his spine when he met Lionel's intense gaze. The man before me is the person in
charge of LG Corporation! That's an international company that controls two-thirds of the international
entertainment industry. Needless to say, it's a highly influential company!
“M-Mr. Gezmond, why are you staring at me? Did I say anything wrong? I-I don't think so. I was sent by Ms.
Saunders to hand this divorce agreement to you,” Joel stammered.
Lionel slowly retracted his gaze and asked casually, “Did she ask you to tell me anything else?”
Joel wiped the beads of cold sweat off of his forehead and continued to stutter, “M-Ms. Saunders said she wants
nothing out of the divorce, so she doesn't want any of your assets. H-However, she has a request. She wants to
reacquire Saunders Group's shares from you, and she hopes that you can accept her request.”
Upon hearing that, Lionel frowned. She wants nothing out of the divorce, and she's willing to fork out money to buy
my shares. Is she so eager to sever all ties with me? If she wants Saunders Group's shares, I can give them to her.
Also, she's my wife. Legally, half of everything I have is also hers. Who told her she could divorce me without taking
any of my assets? Did she never see me as her husband?
Lionel was seeing red, and he rose to his feet angrily.
Frightened, Joel's knees went weak, and he almost fell to his knees. “M-Mr. Gezmond, I'm merely here to deliver a
message from Ms. Saunders. Please calm down. If there's a problem, you can sort it out with Ms. Saunders
peacefully.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLionel squinted and stared into Joel's soul. Once he saw Joel trembling in fear, he uttered indifferently, “Let me have
a look at the divorce agreement.”
Not daring to delay for even a second, Joel gave Lionel the folder and retreated to the door respectfully.
Lionel took a deep breath, opened the folder, and took out the documents inside to scan the information quickly.
Indeed, the content inside was exactly the same as what Joel said moments earlier.
Victoria wanted nothing to do with him and wanted none of his assets. Instead, she wanted to buy Saunders Group's
shares from him.
Upon reading the documents, Lionel slammed the folder on the table.
He then stayed silent for almost three minutes to contain his burning rage.
With a cold gaze, Lionel glanced at Joel, who was quivering by the door, and asked in a deep voice, “Where is that
woman now?”
Joel's voice was trembling as he replied, “S-She's at Justin's medical base.”
Hearing that, Lionel walked around the desk and walked straight to the door.
Joel jumped in shock when he saw Lionel walking toward him, so he immediately stepped aside.
“Stay out of this. I'll talk to her personally,” Lionel ordered.
As soon as Lionel finished his sentence, he mulled over it and added, “If you have the time, explain to her about the
provisions of the marital laws. At the same time, educate her on the fact that a married couple is supposed to have
shared assets.”
Joel was at a loss for words. I've handled plenty of divorce cases, and couples would normally go after their
partners' assets and money in court. I've never seen a couple like them. One of them is eager to give up everything
while the other is trying his best to give away his own assets. What a weird couple! Why would they want to divorce
each other if they care about each other so much? Perhaps this is just how the rich are. I'll never understand them.
Meanwhile, in the study at the medical base, Raiden was on the couch when he said to Bailey, “I kept the bodies of
those suicide attackers in one of the funeral homes in Hallsbay. After that, I sent some men to handle them.
However, I received reports this morning telling me that some bodies had gone missing all of a sudden.”
Bailey was slightly stunned. She looked at Raiden in bafflement and asked, “The bodies went missing? Who would
steal corpses nowadays? What happened?”
Raiden shot her a complicated look and replied, “Ordinary people aren't interested in the corpses, so they won't
steal the bodies for fun. The same can't be said about the people with ulterior motives.”
Bailey was stumped.
Seeing that, Zeke reminded, “The bodies of those suicide attackers can come in quite handy. If those bodies weren't
stolen by the mastermind, it could most probably be—”
“Artemis,” Bailey said with full confidence. “It has to be Artemis. He most probably wants to use the corpses to find
out the identity of the mastermind. In other words, he had been acting as though he had lost his memory to lower
the enemy's guard and deal the fatal blow.”
Raiden nodded and let out a cold snort. “You're now more assured, aren't you? You're no longer as dejected as a
few days ago.”
Bailey rolled her eyes in response. Why must this man take a jibe at me? Does he not want the best for me?
Zeke laughed when he saw that. “Let's just wait and observe the situation for now. I'm sure Artemis is going to act
soon now that he has earned the enemy's trust. At the same time, I think our enemy is also making a move sooner
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmrather than later. That's why we need to stay vigilant and careful. We shouldn't distract or trouble Artemis.”
Right then, the door to the study was pushed open, and Zayron was seen poking his head out from behind the door.
“Bailey, Lionel is here to see Vicky. Should I let him in?”
Bailey figured Victoria had already told her lawyer to give Lionel the divorce agreement. They should have a talk.
With that in mind, Bailey instructed, “Yes. Bring him to her. Stay outside the ward to listen for signs of an argument.
If that happens, inform me right away.”
“Okay.”
The moment Lionel entered the ward, he furrowed his brows when he saw Victoria lying in bed with her pale
cheeks.
He then stood still next to the windows and asked in a gentle tone, “Are you feeling better? Are you still feeling
discomfort anywhere on your body?”
Victoria turned away to avoid his gaze. “I'm better now. Don't worry. Did you receive the divorce agreement I asked
my lawyer to serve you? All you need to do is sign. You didn't need to come here,” she uttered flatly.
In response, Lionel stared at her and asked in distress, “Must we get divorced? Why can't we stay married? I agreed
to let you have your freedom so that you can do whatever you want with your life. I'm not meddling in your private
matters.”
Victoria cocked her head to the side and looked at him. In a cold tone, she asked, “What's the point? We're far apart
with no hope of getting back together. This marriage is keeping both of us constrained. There's no point in staying
married.”
Lionel decided to stop convincing her after hearing her resolute tone. “I can accept the divorce and let you go
without receiving anything from it. However, I'll just transfer my shares to you. Don't insult me with money. If you
do that, I'll feel as though you had never regarded me as your husband. That's brutal.”
