Chapter 629 Divorce Agreement
Huntley fell silent again as he stared at Juliana quietly. People always say that pregnant women get pregnancy
brain. Well, it appears there's some truth to it. She's usually so clever and full of ideas, but now that she's expecting,
she doesn't seem as quick-witted as before.
She narrowed her eyes slightly in concentration. After a long pause, she slapped her forehead and exclaimed, “I
know! I can go to Master for help! After all, she's the best hacker in the world. She can access the Amalgamated
Nations' information system freely, so the Hoffman family's medical system won't be an issue for her.”
He broke into a smile. “Hurry up and contact her, then. Ask her to do you a favor.”
Juliana reached for her phone. However, something suddenly seemed to occur to her, and she froze. “I can't. If she
finds out the baby I'm carrying isn't yours, she'll give me the third degree, and the fact that I slept with her brother
will be exposed!”
Huntley's gaze darkened when he heard her say the words “slept with her brother,” and he did not say anything for
a while. Then, he ventured, “Do you think she doesn't know? Don't be so naive. Don't you know who Bailey is? How
could you ever pull the wool over her eyes with your little tricks? I advise you to contact her as soon as possible so
she can get prepared. Otherwise, if your uncle suddenly shows up here with a doctor and catches you off guard,
they'll have a field day.”
Pursing her lips, Juliana hesitated briefly before gritting her teeth and dialing Bailey's number.
Over in the study at Hallsbay's medical base, Bailey was finally calmer after spending the whole night digesting her
thoughts.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtZeke could not help breathing a sigh of relief. I was really worried it'd completely crush her.
“Have you thought it through?” he asked.
She gave a hollow laugh. “Would it make a difference if I haven't? Life still has to go on as usual. If it's true that he
did it with another woman, that means our relationship has come to an end. I will never allow the man I love to
betray me.”
He made no response. I guessed as much. As someone with such strong moral integrity, there's no way she'd take
Artemis back after how he has treated her.
“The situation hasn't progressed to that stage yet, so let's not jump to conclusions. Who knows? Perhaps nothing
happened between them. After all, the other party sent you such a video with the intention of shocking and
upsetting you. If Artemis did sleep with her, she would've filmed the entire thing instead of cutting it off after the
two collapsed onto the bed.”
Bailey merely smiled while shaking her head. She had already thought the matter through, and the truth would
have to wait until she met with Artemis and spoke to him personally.
Beep! Beep!
Suddenly, the phone on the table started ringing.
She raised her brows subconsciously after checking the screen and seeing that it was an encrypted call. “It's from
Juliana.”
Zeke looked grim upon hearing that. Although we speculate that she had sex with me after drugging me that night
and that the baby in her belly is mine, we have nothing to confirm our suspicions. But now...
“Answer it and put the call on speakerphone. I want to hear what she has to say.”
Chuckling softly, she followed his instructions, swiping to answer the call and turning on the speakerphone. As soon
as the call connected, she could not resist saying teasingly, “You're going to give me another disciple soon, yet I
haven't even met the baby's father. When are you bringing Huntley over and introducing him to me?”
The line went quiet for a moment. Then, a hoarse voice said, “The child I'm carrying isn't Huntley's. It's your
brother's.”
Bailey was stunned as she had not expected her to confess so quickly. She looked toward Zeke subconsciously and
could not contain her laughter when she noticed his ashen face. This guy is quite something. Nothing has ever
gotten in his way in all his years toiling in the business world. However, he has finally met his match at the hands of
a woman.
Pretending to cough, Bailey replied, “Is the baby really Zeke's? I'm impressed, Julie.”
“Master, I'm in trouble now. Very big trouble! You've got to help me!” Juliana pleaded in a tearful voice.
Bailey's expression became solemn. No longer in the mood to tease Juliana anymore, she frowned and asked,
“What's the matter? Is the Hoffman family making things difficult for you?”
Juliana gritted her teeth, then proceeded to explain her current predicament. “Master, you must help me!”
Bailey furrowed her brows slightly. “An amniocentesis? That's a risky procedure. Do you really covet the position of
head of the Hoffman family that much? Why don't you forget about it and let them fight it out among themselves?
As for you, you should return to Hallsbay. Use this opportunity to let them kick you out of the family. They won't
bother to cause trouble for you anymore in the future.”
“No, I'm not going back. I want to be the head of the family. I want to become the most powerful woman in Adrune.
Don't breathe a word to anyone that this baby is mine. I'll give birth to him, then raise him to be a worthy heir.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmGlancing at Zeke again, Bailey saw he had his head slightly bowed. It'd be better to let those directly involved in this
matter resolve it themselves, but the most important thing now is to help Juliana keep the baby safe and protect
her succession right.
“Okay. The Hoffman family's medical system, right? No problem. Just relax and let them conduct the test. I promise
the results will show that Huntley is the baby's father.”
“Thank you, Master.” With that, Juliana hurriedly ended the call.
Bailey raised an eyebrow and smiled at Zeke. “I'm afraid it won't be easy for you to pursue her. She has been
brainwashed and is determined to be the most powerful woman in Adrune and head of the Hoffman family,
wielding power over many of the oldest families across that continent. Yes, she's incredible indeed.”
Zeke said nothing.
Then, he got up from the couch and strode toward the door. “Hurry up and settle everything here. I'll go with you to
pay the Hoffman family a visit. I can't interfere in her plans to become the queen, but I won't allow my child to
remain in that family.”
She watched him leave wordlessly.
Meanwhile, Lionel was perusing some documents in the office on the topmost floor of LG Corporation's branch
when his assistant came in with a lawyer.
“Mr. Gezmond, this is Mr. Joel Williams, a lawyer your wife asked to meet with you.”
Lionel looked up and narrowed his eyes at the man. “What can I do for you?”
Joel replied, “Mr. Gezmond, Ms. Saunders sent me here to deliver the divorce agreement.”
