Chapter 615 Do You Take Me As An Idiot
Bailey rolled her eyes.
She knew that he was going to stop her.
In fact, he was not the only one. She doubted that Edmund would let her leave the medical base either.
To them, she was walking to her own death by stepping out of the medical base.
There were countless assassins waiting to take her life outside, and what else would she be doing if not courting
death by leaving?
“Zeke...” She reached out to tug the hem of Zeke's shirt before looking at him with pitiful eyes. “I miss Artemis. I
wish to meet him soon. I just had a miscarriage, and I'm still weak. The burden of all these people is a heavy one on
my shoulders. I'm hoping that Artemis can come back and help to split the weight...”
Zeke was smart, and he immediately understood what she meant.
In other words, she was asking him to let her enter the bear's cave. How could he possibly do that?
They were all going to follow in her footsteps if anything were to happen to her.
“We can think of other ways to lure out the mastermind behind this. There's no need for you to get involved
personally. Bay, you have to protect yourself. Your life is linked to these few men's lives.”
Resignation washed over Bailey, for she understood what Zeke meant as well.
If she were to die, those who loved her would live their life miserably from then on.
However, opportunity and risk came hand-in-hand.
If she did not show herself, how were they going to lure the mastermind out?
She was the only one who could tempt them into showing up. Otherwise, things would continue to be delayed.
That was not something she wanted.
Artemis was trapped in the headquarters, and she did not want to waste any more time.
Others could say that she was a loser, and she would just let them be. She was forsaking her rationality for a man.

After taking in a deep breath, she gritted her teeth and said, “Zeke, I must go. You're right. If I disagree with your
mother's request, the familial relationship between us will be ruined. There are many things in life that won't go our
way, and parents are the only ones we must never go against. “
An angry laugh escaped Zeke at that. “You're good at finding excuses, huh? You said you didn't care about it earlier,
but you've changed your mind in the blink of an eye. That's why I can only heed a quarter of your words.”
Bailey smiled at him. “That's how I get my way around Artemis. I don't care. You're my brother, so you have to let
me have my way. Just say yes, okay?”
Just as she said that, she reached out to grab his arm and shake it, pestering him like a child.
Zeke always thought he was a determined person, but he could not hold his ground against her sweet words. In the
end, he relented. “First of all, I'll be sending a fleet of cars to go with you. Secondly, I'm going with you. Will you
agree to this?”
Bailey initially wanted to tell him that she would only accept the first condition, but upon seeing Zeke's darkening
expression, she quickly uttered, “Yes to all your terms”.
Twenty minutes later, Waverly arrived at the medical base.
The second she saw Bailey, she dragged her outside.
“Shirley got agitated, and her baby is in danger. You're an excellent doctor, so I need you to take a look at her.”
Bailey raised a brow and grinned.
“I remember that Mrs. Shurmer has always been adamant about not having me join the Shurmer family. You
refused to let me return to my biological family, so why should I curry favor with you? Do you take me as an idiot?”
Waverly tried tugging her again, but Bailey remained fixed in her spot. She then turned to Bailey and frowned. “Are
you going to stand aside and watch your brother's child die? He loves you so much, and his child is your nephew.”
Bailey sneered. “Now you're talking about family with me? Have you ever thought about how I felt when you
rejected me?”
“You—”
Bailey slowly pulled her arm out from her grasp and uttered, “If I am to go to the Shurmer residence, it's only for
my brother, not you. You have Zoey, and you adore her. I'm guessing you won't even care about my absence, so
don't make it seem like we're that close. It's absurd.”
Bailey's words hurt Waverly's dignity, and rage filled her chest. However, the thought of how she needed Bailey to
help Shirley keep the baby flashed in her mind, so she forced herself to tamp down the fury.
“Fine. Then come back to the Shurmer residence for your brother's sake, not mine, because I clearly can't get you
to go there.”
Without sparing a glance at Waverly, Bailey walked past her toward the doorway.
Waverly had to take in two deep breaths before she could suppress the wrath in her. She then followed Bailey out.
...
Meanwhile, Sofie received news from Zoey about how Bailey was out of the medical base with Waverly. Zoey was
asking her to hurry up and send her men to intercept and kill Bailey.
Sofia answered her with an acknowledgment.
Then, she called her subordinates, who were on standby, and made arrangements before quietly waiting for the
results.
Once Bailey was out of the picture, she would then be able to make Zoey Tarragon's matriarch.
Even though her daughter was not as smart as she thought she was, Zoey was still her only daughter.
Sofie had returned to Hallsbay to help Zoey fulfill her dream, after all.
As long as Zoey was Tarragon's matriarch, her dream would be achievable.
...
A fleet of cars slowly drove out of the medical base.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmWhen Waverly realized the grandiosity of the scene, she became annoyed.
Am I hiring a doctor, or am I hiring the queen? What's with the dramatic scene? Is Bailey trying to assert
dominance?
She then said to Bailey in an irked tone, “The Shurmers have always kept a low profile. Take note of that. Don't
make it seem as if you're a queen taking a tour around the country.”
Bailey gave her a cold look, not at all bothered by the fact that the person receiving it was her biological mother.
The point was Waverly never saw her as her biological daughter anyway.
If not for Shirley's baby, she would probably never agree to let Bailey return to the Shurmer family.
What was the point of her showing respect to a mother like that?
“You're right. I'm no queen because I have no family. I'm but an orphan, so how can I possibly be a queen?
Fortunately, I married a good man. I hope you remember that I'm the matriarch of the top prestigious family, the
Luther family, right now. What's wrong with the grand departure? I don't think the glory my in-laws are showing me
has anything to do with you, Mrs. Shurmer.”
Waverly was rendered speechless, and her expression darkened.
That was the truth, so there was nothing she could say to that.
After a sigh, Zeke started, “It's dangerous for Bay to go outside right now. If you're not here in person, she wouldn't
have stepped out of the medical base. If we don't assign men to protect her, we'll all be in mortal danger. There are
simply too many people trying to kill her.”
Waverly narrowed her eyes.
She did not know Bailey's real identity—the Saviors' leader.
Therefore, even if she had heard that the head of Tarragon had put out a kill order on the Saviors' leader, she
would still not think that it was Bailey. She would assume that her son was merely exaggerating.
“What kind of danger could she be face? She's not the leader of a country or something along those lines. At the
end of the day, she just fears death too much.”
