Chapter 591 I Am Betty
A deep and magnetic voice rang out from the entrance.
Everyone instinctively turned in the direction of the voice.
Howard and Jacques almost fell to the ground from shock when they saw who the person was.
R-Raiden. It's Raiden of the Fletcher family! Why is he in Hallsbay?
That's right. He likes Bailey. Since she's in trouble, is he here to help her? In other words, he wasn't kidding. He
really is going to investigate this matter personally.
Howard was filled with despair. The only one he could rely on now was Tamara. After all, he was only following her
orders.
Raiden strode toward Bailey with an anxious look on his face.
“Are you all right? Were you hurt? Jeez, you gave me quite a scare. Aren't you a capable woman? How come you
can't even take proper care of yourself?”
Bailey was at a loss for words.
She sighed helplessly. Why is everyone criticizing me? Do they think I want to go through all this trouble and
suffering?
“If you're here to scold me, you better return to where you came from. Many people want to teach me a lesson.
There's no need for you to be one of them.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtRaiden laughed in exasperation when he heard that.
I hurried here from abroad for her, yet this is the attitude she's giving me? I must be crazy. Why did I like such a...
Forget it. I've already fallen for her and am willing to be trapped by her. What else can I say?
“You must be in charge of the Department of Justice in Hallsbay. Take the evidence you got from Bailey and conduct
an investigation. Let me know if you need anything. As for the two of them, let's suspend them and have them wait
for the result in their cozy homes.”
The person in charge nodded. “Yes, sir.”
With that, he called over a few of his subordinates, who then made their way toward Howard and Jacques. “This
way, please.”
Jacques was about to say something, but Howard shot him a look to stop him.
It was obvious that Raiden wanted to protect Bailey. It would only be a waste for them to say anything more to
defend themselves.
Even if they had not done anything wrong, Raiden could add several crimes onto them. Not to mention, they were
not exactly innocent.
Raiden watched as the person in charge and his subordinates escorted Jacques and Howard away before he turned
to Bailey and said, “Don't worry. I'll return you your innocence. I already know about you sponsoring the university
students. I've also reported this to the leader of our country. I know you could care less about any awards. The only
thing I can do is to help you reveal the truth.”
Bailey flashed him a smile and shook her head. Then, she shifted her gaze to the reporters not far from them and
raised her voice. “I am Betty, the one that has always been doing charity work. However, I'd like to ask all of you to
stop focusing your attention on me. I'm a tough person. I won't back down easily because of such an issue. I'd like
you all to shift your attention to the disaster situation at Quadfield instead.”
She paused momentarily before saying, “For those who called me corrupt and cussed me, I'm sure reality has
taught you how to become a better person. I hope you'll mind the words you speak in the future. Don't spout
nonsense or accuse others without any concrete evidence. After all, there's a limit to my patience.”
With that, she turned around and made her way up the stairs.
Bailey was a formidable woman. Even if everyone bullied and humiliated her, she could still straighten her back and
confidently face them.
Zeke held out his hand to invite Raiden inside the building. “It's rare to see you, Mr. Fletcher. I wonder if you're
interested in having a cup of coffee with me?”
Raiden's gaze fell on Bailey's retreating figure. He waited for her to reach the top of the steps before he replied,
“You made the right decision. There are too many obstacles in her life. It must've warmed her heart to have a
brother like you to protect her.”
The look in Zeke's eyes was complex.
From Raiden's gaze, Zeke could sense his deep passion for Bailey. In the past two days, Zeke also often saw the
same look from Edmund.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmMy sister is indeed excellent. However, I'm unsure whether it's fortunate for her to have several of the world's most
outstanding men falling for her.
News of Bailey donating personal funds worth more than fifty billion to charity and sponsoring more than thirty
billion to more than thirty thousand university students quickly spread across Hallsbay.
The name “Betty” once again headlined newspapers.
After hearing her story, several philanthropists admired that she, as a woman, could be so generous. She knew how
to make the right choices and was indeed a model and example for all young people to learn from.
Bailey was destined to become a legend. Regardless of her field, she could show her talents to the fullest.
However, she was not greedy for admiration. If it weren't for the helplessness of reality, she probably would not
have revealed any of her other identities.
This time, the internet was strangely calm. No one posted any comments. Everyone silently swiped through her
news and basked in the information of her compassion.
Chloe was in the living room of the West residence. When she noticed her father had returned, she hurried to
welcome him. Anxious, she asked, “Dad, how was it? Is Bailey going to jail?”
Jacques shot her a glare as anger filled his eyes.
If it weren't for this good-for-nothing daughter of mine, I wouldn't have risked my life to offend Bailey! Everything is
ruined now. Raiden will personally investigate the matter. Will I even get out of this situation unscathed?
“Bailey won't go to jail. Instead, I'll be the one heading in there soon.”
Chloe widened her eyes in disbelief. “Dad, you're a mayor, after all. Why are you so useless?”
Slap! The sound was loud and crisp as Jacques slapped her across the face.
