Chapter 899

Nicole raised her gaze and continued, "Once everything here is settled, I may have to go abroad with the Wrenn

Family."

Zachary tenderly answered, "Yeah, don't worry about going. I'll help you bring Ms. Betty over so that she can

receive the best treatment overseas."

Touched by his words, Nicole looked at Zachary, his eyes half-closed, and said in a low voice, "You should rest now.

I'll stay by your side."

"I'll be fine. You should go back to your room and rest up." He turned her down with a shake of his head.

Nicole didn't say anything else and simply sat quietly by his side. Zachary knew that she had always been a woman

of her word, and he felt drowsy from the fever. Eventually, he felt his eyelids grow heavy before groggily falling

asleep.

Nicole took care of Zachary for most of the night. Although he had taken some medicine, the effect did not seem to

be particularly obvious, so she put on a fever patch for him. It was only at midnight that his body temperature

returned to normal.

Early the next morning, Zachary woke up, feeling groggy. He slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position with his

arms before realizing that there was something stuck on his forehead.

He squinted his eyes and sat for a moment before his befuddled mind slowly cleared up. He recalled that he caught

a fever last night and Nicole had been taking care of him. At that thought, he found that she was leaning on the

side of the sofa, fast asleep. He felt his heart warm at the sight—it seemed that she had fallen asleep while taking

care of him.

Zachary got up to his feet gingerly and was just about to carry her upstairs when she slowly rose from her slumber.

Nicole yawned, her eyes glazing over with tears. She reached out and rubbed her eyes while asking in a hoarse

voice, "How do you feel? Do you still have a fever?"

Zachary shook his head and said softly, "No, I feel better now. Thank you."

Nicole reached out and kneaded her sore neck. As she had been sleeping with her head against the sofa the entire

night, her neck was sore after waking up. She deduced that it must have been caused by maintaining the same

position for a long time.

"All right, then, I'll go and pack up my things. The Wrenns are coming to pick me up today." She stretched her body,

feeling extremely exhausted.

"Yeah, I'll go with you." Zachary supported her with slick movements, his hand reaching out and landing on the back

of her neck as he gently massaged it for her.

Nicole did not turn him away. Her neck muscles slowly relaxed under his strong hands, and her eyebrows began to

unravel immediately afterward as she let out hums of comfort.

After returning to her room, she began packing. As she didn't own much, she was finished after packing a few

clothes that she usually wore. Meanwhile, Hayden had long woken up and was playing on the computer in the room.

He was not surprised upon seeing her arrival.

"Go pack up your things and get ready. The Wrenn Family will be coming to pick us up later, and we'll be staying

with the Gould Family for two days."

Hayden froze slightly before he quickly returned to his senses. He raised his gaze, a trace of excitement flashing in

his eyes as he said, "Mom, did they acknowledge you?"

Nicole smiled and patted his shoulder, saying in a soft voice, "Something like that, but it's not public yet. We'll go

over and familiarize ourselves with the environment for now. You should pack up. They'll be here soon."

"Okay." Unable to suppress the smile on his face, Hayden nimbly tugged at his small suitcase and began to pack up.

The two had just finished packing and Zachary was bringing their luggage downstairs when Gabriel knocked on the

door. When Zachary opened the door, Gabriel smiled and said, "Thank you for taking care of Nicole all these years,

Mr. Yates."

Zachary skipped the formalities and said bluntly, "It's no trouble, really. It's just within my duties."

Gabriel smiled cordially, remaining silent.
