Chapter 893
"Sit down," Jackson ordered in a grim voice.
Jackson had served in the military for years, so his words always sounded kind of commanding. As a result, Evelyn
obediently sat back down at once. Despite her inner resentment, she couldn't make her father look bad in public, so
she had no choice but to sit back furiously in her chair.
Jackson turned his gaze toward Nicole and eyed her face up and down. He had to admit that her delicate features
looked very much like Siobhan's when she was young. Still, though they were at least similar in appearance, their
clothing style was rather different. After all, Siobhan was born as the Gould Family's daughter, so she always carried
herself with an air of nobility despite being a strong woman. "I've heard from Gabriel about it. The institution that
did the test is an authorized body," he said in a grave voice.
Still looking expressionless as ever, Nicole raised her eyes and replied in a low voice, "I already know that."

As the only person left who was still unaware of the truth, Evelyn was baffled by their conversation. Just what are
they talking about? "Dad, Mom, what are you talking about?" she asked in puzzlement.
She had wanted to try on some jewelry pieces today to match her wedding dress, but Siobhan insisted that she
come here for dinner. I thought this was supposed to be a family dinner. What's going on right now? Why would
Nicole show up here and say things that I can't comprehend? What institution? What authorized body? I don't
understand this.
Siobhan said in a calm voice, "You're my biological daughter."
Nicole's eyes lowered. She slowly explained, "Ms. Betty, who brought me up when I was a child, told me that
Madeline was suffering from domestic abuse back then and feared that her daughter would get hurt. That was why
she resorted to swapping her daughter for another baby girl born at the same hospital."
"You already know that?" A flicker of surprise flashed across Siobhan's eyes. She had thought that Nicole had only
learned about this recently, but it seemed from the latter's unperturbed demeanor that she had learned about this
long ago. As her daughter, Nicole would have both the Wrenns and the Goulds' power and influence at her back, yet
she managed to remain so composed.
"Mm-hmm," Nicole mumbled calmly.
"Haven't you thought of reuniting with us after learning about this?" Siobhan asked while staring at her.
Before Nicole could answer her, Evelyn, who had been looking on, couldn't help but question in a shrill voice, "What
do you mean? What do you mean by 'biological daughter'? Mom, what on earth are you talking about?" She stared
goggle-eyed at the few people before her, wondering if she was hearing things.
"You and Nicole were born at the same hospital back then, but Madeline Houston switched you with my own
daughter for fear that you might get hurt."
Siobhan's words sounded imperturbable, but Evelyn froze on the spot upon listening to them. According to what
Siobhan had said, she was the daughter of William and Madeline!

began to moisten. "Mom, stop kidding, okay?"
However, Siobhan didn't look like she was joking at all.
Evelyn immediately pointed her finger at Nicole. Gritting her teeth, she said, "It's got to be your doing, Nicole!
Things must've turned out like this because you said something to my parents! Are you desiring our family fortune
or Colton?! I'm gonna tear you to pieces, you b*tch!" At this very moment, she could no longer care about her
image as a fine lady. Glaring daggers at Nicole, she charged toward her the next instant, wanting to beat her up.
Luckily, Gabriel stopped her just when she was about to lunge at Nicole.
Evelyn immediately slapped him across the face in anger. She yelled angrily, "How could you all side with an
outsider?!"
The slap was so hard that Gabriel's cheek turned red at once.
Jackson's face hardened completely. Smacking his palm on the dining table, he barked in a stern voice, "Enough is
enough, Evelyn!"
