Chapter 844
Benedict stormed out angrily after that.
Anna appeared troubled by the awkward position she was in. She looked at her son and let out a sigh.
"Colton, even if nothing has happened between you and her, others might see it differently. Evelyn is an unmarried
woman. No matter what, this will more or less damage her reputation."
Colton pursed his lips and said, "Mom, after I was drugged, she called me and led me into the room. Don't you think
that was too much of a coincidence?"
A look of doubt flashed across her eyes. She stared at him in shock. "Are you saying that she could've been behind
this?"
He didn't deny it and confessed, "While I was in the room, I felt the drug taking effect and had asked her to leave,
but instead of doing so, she took off her clothes and lay on the bed with me."
Anna was caught by surprise. Her voice shaky, she stared at him in disbelief. "Colton, are you sure you didn't
remember it wrongly because you were heavily drugged?"
His face fell. "Impossible. My memory has always been great."
She trusted her son. After all, Colton would never make up stories just to avoid taking responsibility.
"Was it truly… the doing of Evelyn?" She still looked doubtful.

She took his words and sighed. "I know she has liked you since you two were kids. But I never expected her to do
this to you."
Unemotional, he gave no response to that.
Knowing her son well, she gave him a suggestion after careful thought. "Why don't you head back for now? I'll take
care of matters here at home. Go ahead with the investigation, but if it is indeed Evelyn behind this incident, you
must not cross the line when dealing with her."
He nodded as he understood that the two families enjoyed a good relationship. Even if Evelyn was the perpetrator,
he would not create a commotion.
"Got it. I'll go now."
Although the effect of the drug wasn't fully gone, at least he didn't have to endure the intolerable heat from before.
Indeed, he needed to head back home and get things sorted out.
As soon as he finished his sentence, he turned around and left. When he went to his car, however, he noticed a
woman standing next to it.
The woman saw him coming and called out softly, "It's been a while, Colton."
His gaze hardened as he recognized Queenie. Frowning, he instinctively took a step backward to keep a distance

She chuckled at his annoyed expression, her gaze oozing with affection for the handsome face that resided in her
mind day and night.
At first, she only wanted him for the power he held. But after many years, she found herself falling for him slowly
and descending into the abyss.
She loved every move of his. In fact, she loved everything about him. But when she came to the realization, he had
already kicked her out of his life.
To make matters worse, he was involved with Nicole after that.
That was unacceptable to her.
She looked at him, noting that his slightly tousled hair betrayed his otherwise tidy appearance.
She had delivered the drug to Evelyn, confident that Evelyn would definitely use it. Ever since then, she had been
secretly keeping an eye on the two.
The drug was extremely strong and would cause great discomfort to the user if the effects were not relieved.
She also observed the Gardners and the Wrenns heading up to the room within ten minutes of Colton and Evelyn's
entrance.
From being drugged to exiting the room, it had only been half an hour, which meant that Colton was still under the
influence of the drug.
