Chapter 804
After escorting Nicole back to the hospital this time, Zachary followed her upstairs instead of continuing to wait
downstairs. They entered Siobhan's previous ward, but she was no longer there.
As soon as Nicole stepped out through the door, she came face-to-face with a furious Evelyn, whose face turned
sullen at the sight of her. Walking quickly up to her, Evelyn raised her hand without hesitation in an attempt to slap
her, but Zachary, who was standing behind Nicole, nimbly caught hold of her wrist.
Looking up at the man, Evelyn said between clenched teeth, "How dare you get in my way! Who the hell do you
think you are?"
Although Zachary had a gentle disposition, he was absolutely no pushover. The instant he heard Evelyn's words, his
face darkened slightly, and he asked in a deep voice, "Miss Wrenn, is this how you were brought up by the Wrenn

Evelyn's face flushed crimson in anger at his words. She uttered between clenched teeth, "It's not up to you to care
about how I was brought up by my family! Let go of me!"
Zachary reached out and pulled Nicole into his arms to shield her before finally releasing his grip on Evelyn's wrist.
Evelyn's eyes were visibly ablaze with rage; she stared at the two of them before her gaze lowered and rested upon
Nicole. She said angrily, "You b*tch! I heard long ago that you managed to climb your way up in F&M Apparel by
prostituting yourself. How dare you donate blood to my mother! Loose as you are, you must've caught some
disease long ago without knowing. I'm telling you, Nicole—just get ready for your funeral if anything wrong happens
to my mom!"
A complicated look flickered across Nicole's eyes as she involuntarily balled her fists at Evelyn's words. I've never
slept with any man other than when I spent the night with Colton five years ago! Looking up and staring at Evelyn
with bright, clear eyes, she retorted in a cold voice, "Miss Wrenn, the test results have not come out yet. Do you
have to be in such a hurry to pin the blame on me?"
Looking at her charming face, which gave off a hint of confidence, Evelyn wished she could step forward and tear
Nicole to pieces. Staring venomously at Nicole, she argued, "Who else is to blame for this if not you?! My mom's
high fever isn't going down because she received blood from you!"
Just when she spoke with increasing agitation, a tall figure suddenly appeared behind her and rebuked in a stern
voice, "That's enough, Evelyn."
Evelyn turned to look at the speaker. When she saw that it was Gabriel, her eyes reddened slightly. She bit her lip,
asking, "Gabriel, are you still gonna defend this b*tch now that Mom's already in such a state?"
Gabriel couldn't help but frown when he heard how Evelyn repeatedly called Nicole a b*tch. He lowered his head
and chided softly, "Watch your words, Evelyn! You're a lady of the Wrenn Family. Wherever you go, you're

Evelyn's eyes moistened. She argued between clenched teeth, "But Mom wouldn't have ended up like this if it
weren't for this b—I mean her!"
Seeing how aggrieved she looked, Gabriel didn't really harden his heart toward her. After all, he'd spoiled this
younger sister of his since she was a child. He said impassively, "Mom is alright now. She's come round already."
Then, he raised his eyes slightly, looking at Zachary as a faint smile spread across his face. "What a coincidence,
President Yates."
Zachary's face was expressionless, though. He replied coldly, "Not really. I purposely accompanied Nicole here, only
to see how the Wrenns brought up their children."
Knowing that Evelyn must've said something offensive just now, Gabriel promptly apologized, "Sorry about that,
President Yates. My mom's seriously ill, so Evelyn's in a bad mood. Perhaps that's why she inevitably put her foot in
her mouth."
Zachary kept a poker face without saying anything else.
