Chapter 746
Zachary stared at the silent Nicole. Eventually, he decided not to push the matter as he sighed with a wry smile on
his face. "Nicky, it's getting late. Let's go in first." His tall figure exuded a lonely vibe. He paused for a while before
continuing, "Perhaps I was too anxious and didn't think about how you would feel."
She felt even more guilty when she noticed his response.
Although she knew he had always liked her, she held no romantic affection for him. She thought she had made it
clear early on, but it seemed like it did not get through to him.
Nicole opened her mouth, intending to say something, but nothing left her lips.
Finally, she sighed and decided to give up.
The two entered the house together. Hayden heard the door opening and immediately ran over. "Mommy! You and

Hayden had a huge smile when he ran over, but he was stunned when he saw Zachary. He quickly changed the
subject and threw himself into Nicole's arms. "Mommy, you're back! I miss you so much."
Nicole squatted down and returned the hug. When she laid her eyes on her son, all the disappointment and loss she
had suppressed in her heart dissipated. Her face softened as she reached out and cupped his face. "Have you had
dinner yet?"
"Yes, I have. Ms. Annie made me delicious food." He nodded obediently.
Then, he turned to Zachary with a huge smile on his face as he greeted sweetly, "Hello, Mr. Yates."
Zachary hummed in response. He took a few steps in their direction, and his gaze slowly fell on Hayden's face.
When his eyes fell on the child, who resembled Colton, he couldn't help but feel slightly jealous.
However, his voice remained gentle and doting.
"Recently, the company has been quite busy. I haven't visited you for a long time, and it seems like you've grown
taller."
Whenever the topic veered to anything near height, Hayden would become excitable. As seen when he nodded
hurriedly, "Yes, I am two centimeters taller!"
Nicole didn't interrupt as they were having a good chat. So, she stood to the side and waited for them to finish
talking before saying, "Okay, it's getting late. Hayden, you need to rest. Mr. Yates will still be here tomorrow, so if
you have anything more to say, you can talk to him tomorrow."
Hayden nodded and removed himself from Nicole. Then, he went back upstairs briskly like the well-behaved child
he was.
After Hayden left, Nicole turned to look at Zachary. She cleared her throat and asked, "Zach, what do you plan to
do after coming all the way here?"

me."
Nicole didn't know what to say in the face of his frank answer. She wasn't sure if it was because of nervousness, but
her eyelids fluttered. Then, a few moments later, she closed her eyes and said, "All right. I still have a small thing
that I need to deal with here, which will take a week at most. Once that's done, I will go abroad with you."
She no longer had any lingering feelings for this country. Besides that, Betty might have a better chance of getting
her Alzheimer's cured by going abroad. Regardless, the Gardner Family would not let him off easy now that William
had committed a crime and harmed one of their own.
However, her mother's death…
Nicole thought about it for a while before shaking off her thoughts. Maybe Betty would know the truth about her
mother's death. She would only learn the truth once Betty was cured, and Betty would have a better chance abroad
than in this cesspit of a country.
The moment Nicole agreed, he burst into gratified joy. "By the way, what I just said at the door is true. So you can
think about it, but I won't force you. I will always love you whether you want to marry me."
She was stunned at his sudden confession before she slowly nodded in response.
