Chapter 728
When Colton heard Nicole's query, his eyes curved and he revealed a friendly smile. "I'm here for free food.
Remember to prepare my portion too."
As such, Nicole put more ingredients in the pot.
One more person only means an extra bowl, and I don't really care.
It was only after she prepared the chowder did Nicole return to the couch with two cups of warm water. She
handed one over to Colton.
Then, she took a sip to moisten her throat before speaking slowly, "You didn't come this early to investigate your
grandmother's death, did you?"
Nicole's words hit the spot. Meanwhile, Colton used his slender fingers, which were like a work of art in itself, to hold
the glass and slowly press it against his thin lips.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNodding, he commented, "Yes. I don't know what came over me but I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd come over
early."
When Colton said this, he raised his eyebrows, his expression revealing a hint of happiness.
"I didn't expect you to wake up so early like me. Maybe this is what we call having a heart-to-heart."
Nicole was speechless when she heard that
This man will try to push my buttons if I let my guard down!
Looking at Nicole's thunderous expression, Colton put on a straight face and didn't tease Nicole anymore. Then, he
said slowly, "I asked someone to run through the events of that year again. This is the information."
He then took out a stack of papers, seemingly from nowhere.
Nicole glanced down.
This information looks rearranged. The vital remark has been bolded to make it look clear. So that's why there are
dark circles under his eyes; Colton must have been tinkering with the information all night.
Nicole had no idea why, but she was suddenly moved. Then, she took a closer look and found that it was some
witnesses' words and the scene's description.
She flipped through the pages and found that most of them didn't know much, only that they had seen a car flying
by, so they couldn't get a good look at the driver.
Colton looked at Nicole's serious expression and explained, "My grandma just returned from a trip abroad. It was
almost midnight. She was waiting for someone here, and there was a zebra crossing. At the top was the security
camera, but only one captured the whole incident. The other camera only captured the car."
Nicole listened to Colton's explanation while reading the documents. Confused, she asked, "I have a question.
Generally speaking, the car must be stained with a little blood in a hit and run, which means that the other cameras
could have captured the suspicious car. What about the license plate number?"
Colton shook his head and sighed.
"That was over ten years ago. Although there were security cameras on these roads back then, they weren't as

While talking, he took out a photo from the center of the document, which was taken at the scene of the incident.
Then, he pointed to a street light.
"Do you see the street light in this spot? On the opposite side of the street light is a camera, so it's the only
surveillance footage that captured the vehicle and the killer."
That was why Benedict was so excited to see the photograph. The footage would capture the driver's appearance if
the image were taken in this place.
Nicole pondered for a moment, then looked up at Colton and asked, "Why do you think the person who sent this
photo didn't just give the footage? The video is more convincing than the photo."
"Maybe there's something else about the footage they don't want us to know?" Colton raised an eyebrow and
smiled.
Nicole thought the same. After some thinking, she immediately said, "What if William Anderson is the culprit of the
hit and run?"
