Chapter 655
Nicole slept through the night while Colton stayed and did not leave her side even for a second.
Anna called him the following day, saying that Benedict had finally left his room. He looked rather bleak and pale
but refused to tell them anything.
Colton briefly explained the current situation to Anna. Then, an aghast Anna hurriedly asked, "How's Nicole now?"
"She's fine." Colton looked at Nicole, who was still unconscious on the bed and shook his head. "Don't worry about
her, Mom. She fainted, that's all. She'll be fine soon. Take care of Grandpa."
Anna heaved a sigh of relief when she heard that Nicole was alright. "Okay. I'll look after your grandfather. Watch
over Nicole. Let me know if anything crops up," she urged.
Colton gave a light hum of agreement and ended the call.

the window from inside the room. The raindrops hit the glass panels and produced a loud pattering sound.
He went to the window to draw the curtain to a close. It was 6.00AM, the sky was still overcast, and there was nary
a hint of sunlight due to the rain clouds.
None of the lights in the room was turned on. There was only the dim street light that barely illuminated the place,
which made the whole room look dark and dreary.
Colton walked back to the bed and looked down at Nicole. His face showed barely concealed worry for her well-
being. She's been sleeping for almost a day. So, why isn't she awake yet?
After he stewed in his anxiety for a while, he couldn't bear it any longer, so he called Julian.
On the other end of the line, Julian sounded drowsy as he answered the call. Colton had called him at a rather
ungodly hour. He was still so tired that it was a chore to even open his eyes to slits. "Yes, Boss? What's the matter?"
"How's Pierre? Is he awake now?" Colton asked.
"Nope. He's been unconscious since I took him away. I've tried different methods to wake him up but failed. If you
want, I can dissect him and see what's going on with him," Julian teased.
Colton asked coldly, "Pierre has that spray with him, doesn't he? Have you run some tests on it?"
"Yes," Julian answered. "It's mainly ether and a few other ingredients, but they aren't harmful. They only cause
someone to fall into a deep sleep."
Julian crawled to bed late last night and had only decided to catch some sleep after everything was settled. Alas, his
rest was cut short by Colton's call.
"Okay. Good to know."
After Colton received the answer he wanted, he swiftly ended the call without hesitation and continued to stay by
Nicole's side. It was almost noon when she finally woke up.

she tried to speak, she grimaced and felt a burning pain in her throat. She also felt feeble and weak and could not
hold herself up.
She exerted some force against the sheets to push herself up, yet she collapsed into the bed.
He hastily helped her, supported her, and fed her some water. She only felt considerably better after she drank her
fill of water.
"H-How long have I been asleep?" Nicole stammered. The intense headache forced her to close her eyes, and her
vision was still bleary. It didn't help that her voice sounded like a woman in her fifties.
"It's been less than a day. Are you hungry? I asked them to make some soup for you. It's still warm," Colton
answered, wholly concerned with her condition.
She was indeed a little hungry, and her stomach rumbled in protest. Finally, she lowered her eyes and nodded.
"Okay."
Then, Pierre's face flashed across her mind. Therefore, she reflexively grabbed Colton, who was about to leave.
