Chapter 1334 Imagine Memory Restored, Wife Vanished After confirming this, he kept watching the rest of the movie.

As evening descended, the clock struck nine.

Ann pulled back the covers, intending to return to her own small bed.

Paul, however, grasped her hand firmly, drawing her back to him.

"Sleep withtonight," he said.

Sexual incompatibility usually stems from only a few causes: both parties might be sexually disinterested, or perhaps just one. Additionally, the man's technique might be lacking, or his endurance too brief, leaving the woman unfulfilled-a common reason for divorce.

Paul was a deeply rational man, his logic bordering on emotional detachment.

In typical fashion, he had mentally listed these possibilities, preparing to eliminate each one systematically.

He held Ann in his arms, while she lay somewhat uncomfortably with her back to him. Simply lying together without further action was unprecedented between them.

She worried that once he regained his senses, he might accuse her of taking advantage of his vulnerable state. His hand slid beneath her nightgown to her waist, causing her to stiffen instantly.

Her nightgown rode up.

She buried half her face in the pillow, the tips of her ears flushing crimson.

Minutes later, Paul examined the moisture on his fingertips. She wasn't sexually unresponsive.

First possibility eliminated.

He glanced down at his own arousal-clearly, he wasn't disinterested either. Second possibility eliminated.

Poor technique? Lack of endurance? Only these possibilities remained.

Ann slept fitfully. but exhaustion eventually overcher anxiety once she realized he wouldn't take things further.

The next morning, she reached across the bed, feeling only cool sheets. Had Paul already risen? She hurried out of bed, intending to freshen up in the bathroom.

As she opened the bathroom door, she caught him in a private moment...

Embarrassed, she quickly closed the door, her face burning as she rushed to another room.

Two hours later, breakfast was ready, but she couldn't bring herself to call him downstairs. Surely, being caught in such a private act must have embarrassed him too. Hardly. Paul cdownstairs and calmly spooned his porridge as usual.

Ann was the one overwhelmed with discomfort, though she'd done nothing wrong. A single glance from him made her face flush.

Paul noticed that during these recent meals, she hadn't joined him.

"Have you eaten?" he asked.

"I'll eat later." "Was I previously cruel to you? Did I deny you food?" Ann was speechless. While he hadn't been kind, she couldn't blhim he had paid her three million dollars under terms she herself had proposed.

He was, after all, just a shrewd businessman.

"No, you treatedadequately," she replied, fearing his reaction should his memory return and he recall this conversation.

Paul was not a forgiving man.

Paul said casually, "Is that so? This morning, I spent an hour in the bathroom testing my stamina. It shows that when it comes to making love to you, my endurance is just fine." Ann's scalp tingled with anxiety. She glanced around nervously, dreading the possibility of someone overhearing their clinically frank discussion about such intimate matters.

He added, "My technique must be inadequate then-that's why you want a divorce. I can work on improving that." "Mr. Adams, I can't explain everything now. You'll understand when your memory returns." "By then, won't you have already left me?" he asked, referring to her presence as merely charitable attention to an injured man.

Ann's heart skipped a beat, momentarily disoriented.

Even as she washed the dishes, her mind remained foggy.

Paul stood at the kitchen's edge, watching her.

Realizing this might seem awkward, he considered helping he was, after all, trying to win back his wife.

"Mr. Adams, I can manage. Please, make yourself comfortable on the sofa." Though Paul moved with greater ease today, he still helped tidy up.

When Ann finished washing, he embraced her from behind.

She nearly dropped the dishware in shock.

Paul held her waist with one hand while tilting her chin with the other, attempting to kiss her lips from behind.

Frightened, she pushed him away forcefully.

He stumbled back against the counter, his brow furrowing.

Ann touched her lips, her heart racing wildly. "I'll... I'll just finish putting these away." She stammered, her mind frantically searching for a response.

Paul might not remember their relationship, but she did.

He had never kissed her before.

Paul remained motionless. Even in pajamas, his figure and features remained strikingly handsome.

Her anxiety was palpable.

Clearly, they hadn't been intimate for stime-his advances had startled her.

Paul spoke up, "Everything's clean now. Let's go watch television together." Ann finally set down the plates and followed behind him nervously.

For the rest of the evening, she remained vigilantly on guard, avoiding any possibility of accidental intimacy as though warding off a thief.

Paul didn't press the issue.

That night, she returned to her own bed, fearing things might spiral beyond her control.

Ann was a woman plagued by profound insecurity, having never experienced familial affection and having been betrayed in love. Her emotional landscape was barren. She sustained herself through monthly calls with Connie, grasping at ssemblance of family connection. If anyone were to offer her genuine love, she would pledge her life in return.

Ann's heart was so easily deceived that a single gesture of kindness could convince her of lifelong devotion. Indeed, insecure women were often vulnerable to manipulation, making them easy targets for unscrupulous men.

Perhaps somewhere in the world, a man existed who would truly care for her, but she knew with certainty that Paul could never be that man. It wasn't merely unwillingness on his part-it was outright aversion. He despised her advances, despised everything about her.

She turned away, maintaining her vigilance even in her separate bed.

Eventually, though, sleep claimed her.

She awoke gasping, finding a shadow looming above her-Paul's lips pressed against hers, her vision exploding like fireworks.

She remained frozen, uncertain how to respond.

Paul cradled the back of her head, her hair tangling between his fingers.
