Chapter 646 Evelyn's mother immediately decided that she would take a six-month break from school, stay confined at home, and have the baby aborted.
However, Evelyn's body was too weak-malnourished and anemic. It was too dangerous for her to undergo the procedure, and the doctors refused to perform the surgery.
After much deliberation, her mother decided she would carry the baby to term and put it up for adoption as soon as the child was born. The Middletons would pretend the baby never existed.

After giving birth, Evelyn quickly regained her figure and went back to school, as if nothing had happened. Looking back on it now, she felt no regret as a mother. Given the circumstances, her mother had made the right decision.
Jean soon stopped crying, and once she composed herself, a bright smile spread across her face. "I can't believe it, Mrs. Hamilton. You're actually my biological mother! Oh, mother dearest, I'll leave Nadine and Brad's divorce in your capable hands then.
"If they don't go through with it, I'll make sure the world knows you're my mom! Do you think Mr. Hamilton will still want you then? I wonder if you'll be able to keep a lid on such a huge scandal." Why should she have to suffer all these years, unable to keep the man she loved, while her mother thrived? Jean had endured great hardships in life and still hadn't been able to claim the title of lady of the Hamilton family, so why was it that Evelyn could? Evelyn was stunned after hearing that. "Jeanie, you can't do this to me! I'm your mother!" Jean sneered, "Do you really think you deserve to be my mother? Do you even know how to be one? I'll be honest I'm only interested in being the lady of the Hamilton family. Nothing else can make up for what I've been through!" She continued, "If you feel even the slightest bit guilty, get rid of Nadine!" With that, she stormed out of the hospital room.
Evelyn stood rooted to the spot, watching Jean's retreating figure, shaking her head in disbelief. "Has she lost her mind?" But the only response was the sound of the wind blowing through the room.
Sophie was moving out of the ICU today, and Nadine had switched shifts with a colleague just so she could cto pick her up.
After the surgery, Sophie appeared much livelier than before. Although she still couldn't see, she had gained sweight, looking far healthier than her previous emaciated state.
Nadine carefully helped her out of the ICU and toward a regular ward. "Grandma Sophie, how are you feeling? Does it still hurt?" Sophie grasped Nadine's hand tightly, a radiant smile spreading across her weathered face. "Nad, feel so much better now, and I owe it all to you. I really need to thank you. By the way, where's Victorias she off with those troublemakers again?" Nadine wasn't sure how to respond to Sophie's question about Victoria, so she kept it vague.
