Brad couldn't help but dart an approving glance at the nurse who had left Nadine speechless. He smirked,
shifting his gaze back to Nadine. Assuming an air of entitlement, he leaned back in his chair.
He had been injured because of her, so she owed it to him to take care of him!
The displeasure in his expression faded as he watched Nadine fussing over him, feeling completely assured. She
owed it to him, after all!
Out of her gratitude for Brad, Nadine didn't seem upset when he bossed her around like a maid. He had gotten
injured because of her, and he had saved her when she needed help.
What else could she say? She wasn't as ruthless and indifferent as he was.

After finishing her preparation, Nadine drew in a deep breath to calm herself. She dipped a cotton swab in iodine
and applied it to the wound on the back of his hand.
"I'm going to disinfect the wound first. It might sting a bit, so you'll have to bear with it."
She wouldn't have been so nice to him if he hadn't saved her. After all, how could a grown man be unable to
handle such insignificant pain?
Despite her warning, Brad seemed agonized. He inhaled sharply, and a pained expression crossed his face.
At one point, Nadine felt like asking him whether it really hurt that much. But the pained look on his face made
her heart throb and stirred up her already conflicted feelings.
She bit back the snide remark that was on the tip of her tongue and remained silent, complying by being more
delicate with him.
Reclining in the chair, Brad stole a glance at Nadine. A smile tugged at his lips as he noticed the concern in her
eyes.
He wanted her to feel guilty. Lately, she had becmore and more outrageous. She'd run away from home
multiple times ever since Jean returned, and she wouldn't even smile at him.
Now that Nadine was nice to him again, he felt a longing sense of ease.
She'd only been working for more than a month, but her deft skills clearly indicated her proficiency as a nurse.
Soon, she bandaged Brad's wound and even tied a neat bow on the back of his hand.
"Done. You can leave now. Avoid spicy food for now and don't get your wound wet."

A surge of relief shot through Nadine after she gave Brad the instructions. God knew how daunting it was to deal
with him. She was constantly worried that he'd burst into a fit of rage or becupset.
The last thing Nadine wanted was to treat him again. She only did it out of courtesy because he got injured
because of her. Now that she'd treated his injury, she no longer owed it to him.
With that, she left promptly and headed to the basin to wash her hands. She didn't even spare Brad a glance.
After washing her hands, she left, but Brad was still waiting for her to tend to him. Realizing that she'd left, he
was furious.
"Nadine, stop right there!"
