Chapter 500 | Do Not Want Anything
Upon hearing her words, Zephyr was about to respond when she turned her head. "How did you find out | was
taken and manage to trackdown here?" The fact that the police had asked such questions earlier indicated
that he hadn't learned about it from them.
"Lenora told me."
"Zephyr."
"Hmm?"
"You're not wearing your glasses."
Sophia studied his features seriously and suddenly realized that Zephyr, with glasses and without, exuded vastly
different auras.
She was accustomed to seeing him with his glasses on. Seeing him without them all of a sudden felt somewhat
unfamiliar. Without his glasses, the depth and contours of his features stood out more.
"Yeah."
When he left, he picked up his glasses, only to find that the lenses had been crushed by a car.
"Is it okay for you to drive? What would you do if you hit someone?"
"No worries, I'll just compensate them for it."
"Don't... drive too fast." She then continued their previous conversation. "How did Nora find out?"
"I'm not sure." Zephyr shook his head. "Perhaps she somehow got wind of it. Didn't you askhow | found this
place?"
"Yeah?"
"She toldthat this might be related to Isla, so | had someone hack into her phone. By tracking her recent
contacts, | was able to locate this place."
Sophia raised her eyebrows in surprise. "So, you're saying this was all orchestrated by Isla?"
"Yeah."
""D*mn it!"
Sophia was absolutely infuriated.
Isla had an uncle who could not take action against her even if it was ultimately traced back to her.
The mere thought of Isla prancing around and showing off in front of her made Sophia seethe with anger. Her
face turned beet red as if her lungs were about to explode from frustration. She lost her appetite for dinner,
feeling as though her anger alone was enough to fill her up.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtZephyr glanced at her, one hand on the steering wheel, the other gently holding her hand. "Don't be upset."
"How can | not be upset? She surely won't face any punishment. How am | supposed to accept that?"
"Punishing Isla is impossible. At most, she'll be detained for a few days. To appease you, Mr. Xenos will likely offer
sbenefits. Given the circumstances, you might want to think about what you really want."
Sophia bit her lower lip tightly, her heart filled with agitation. Yet, she understood the unwritten rule that one
should always avoid conflict with those in power. Even Zachary had to respect Matthew, let alone her own family.
They couldn't do anything to Matthew, especially considering her father wouldn't risk everything to seek justice
for her.
"I don't want anything. | just beg him to get rid of this huge burden named Isla! This family has truly given me
PTSD!" Sophia rolled her eyes. "Oh, and you too."
"Hmm?"
"Delete Isla's number."
Zephyr was confused.
"You can't contact her anymore or even think of her as your sister. It's either her or me, not both. If | find out
you're in touch with Isla, our agreement ends immediately."
"All right, I'll delete her number once | get home," Zephyr said, a helpless smile on his face.
"Right, could you let Nora know that I'm safe?"
She had no idea where she had tossed her phone.
Zephyr casually pulled out his phone from his pocket with one hand and handed it to Sophia. "You can do it
yourself."
Sophia didn't take it and raised an eyebrow. "Oh, you're not worried aboutdiscovering secrets in your
phone?" "What secrets? Your candid photos?"
Sophia smirked. "I'm talking about your little friend, of course. Imagine how embarrassed you'd be if | saw it?"
"Don't worry, | don't have a habit of taking selfies."
""Who knows!"
Sophia took the phone, pressed the unlock button, and the screen lit up, prompting for the lock screen password.
"What's the password?"
""Your birthday," Zephyr replied, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.
"Oh."
Sophia was taken aback for a moment, a ripple of emotion stirring within her heart. She lowered her gaze, keyed
in the password, and upon seeing the wallpaper on the screen, she paused.
In the wallpaper, under the dim night
sky, the boy wore a white T-shirt and knee-length black shorts, while the girl wore a light yellow dress. They
stood beneath a streetlight, holding hands, their young, innocent smiles directed at the camera.
The photo appeared aged, its image blurry, yet it instantly triggered Sophia's memories.
It was taken on the day they finished their university entrance exam.
After her exams, she used a class gathering as an excuse not to go hwith her mother. Instead, she went to a
prearranged cafe to meet Zephyr.
Back then, Evelyn, Sophia's mother,
felt that her academic performance was lacking and that she wouldn't be able to get into a good university
through the university entrance exam. She had mentioned to her that after the exam, she would send her
abroad to further her studies. Sophia wanted to stay in the country with Zephyr but found it difficult to oppose
her mother, leaving her somewhat distressed.
When she saw him, out of fear that he might overthink, she didn't reveal the slightest hint of her dilemma.
That day, the two of them spent the entire day out and about, having fun. On a whim, they decided to book room
at a hotel to explore the origins of human life.
He mentioned that if his grades were high enough, he would definitely opt for one of the top two universities in
Jeahron.
Hence, after the results were out, Sophia decided on a private university in Jeahron.
His academic performance was so exceptional that he was highly sought after. When she asked him which one
he would choose, he did not respond.
She simply assumed that he still couldn't decide.
The following day, she was unable to reach him.
He left nothing but a short text message before vanishing from her life.
It wasn't until the semester started that the high school class chat, usually devoid of much activity, received a
sudden message. Serena, who was attending Pillere University, abruptly mentioned that she had spotted Zephyr
on campus. Later on, Sophia, who missed the application period for overseas universities, spent her four years of
university in Jeahron without Zephyr.
Sophia originally had this photo as well.
But after Zephyr left, she deleted it, erasing all the beautiful memories they had shared together.
Memories from years ago, long buried deep within her heart, suddenly surged forth like a floodgate opening.
Sophia pursed her lips, her heart swelling with a complex mix of emotions.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe still has this photo.
Zephyr hadn't heard any noise for a
while, so he glanced over at her. She was staring at his wallpaper, lost in
thought.A flicker of surprise crossed his heart before he looked away. Clearing his throat, he reminded her, "Why
haven't you

made the call yet?"
"I'll call her now." She laughed at herself. "Zephyr."
"Hmm?"
"How on earth did I fall for you back then when you were so unsophisticated? It's a mystery that | just can't
unravel."
Zephyr responded with a cold chuckle, "Well, you were no different back then."
"Then why did you use it as your wallpaper? Aren't you afraid it'll make you look unsophisticated?"
"I don't mind."
Sophia let out a soft hum, then fell silent.
Although he had given her permission to look through his phone, she didn't take advantage of it. She simply
opened the contacts and dialed Lenora's number.
"| wonder who it was that once wooedwith such grand promises, but now she's criticizingfor being too
unsophisticated," Zephyr said, his tone dripping with sarcastic playfulness. "Back then, | was young and reckless-
"Zephyr, did you find Soph?" Lenora asked as soon as the call connected.
"Nora, it's me. I'm okay now."
Upon hearing Sophia's voice, Lenora finally breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm glad you're okay. You really scared me."
"Zephyr toldthat you were the first to notice something was wrong. If it weren't for you, | would have been in
real danger. Nora, | love you so much!"
Zephyr was dumbfounded.
It seems she's deeply in love with quite a few people.
