Chapter 48 Looking at the empty corridor, I thought for a moment before striking up a conversation with Zion. "Is Selena very close to Andy?" "They're not exactly close, but not bad either. Their relationship isn't as simple as it seems on the surface," he replied.

Zion looked atsuspiciously, his eyes full of wariness. "Hudson, you never used to bother with things related to Selena's company, so why are you suddenly so invested? What exactly are you thinking?" I was speechless at his wild imagination, but I didn't bother correcting him either. "Then why does she dislike you so much?" I asked, puzzled.

"No idea. Maybe she's just messed up," Zion replied irritably. For sreason, he looked atwith the sannoyed expression.

"What's it to you, anyway? Why do you care so much? Hudson, you didn't used to be like this. Ever since you went to Carzonia, you have been asking all sorts of questions." I was used to Zion's sarcasm, so it didn't bothermuch. In fact, it gavea strange sense of superiority, as if his jabs were actually his frustration abouttaking Selena away from him, though that wasn't my intention.

Recalling what Andy had said, I frowned and asked, "Did Selena have health issues from a long tago? Her hospitalization wasn't really because of me, was it?" There was a flash of shock in Zion's gaze, but he quickly regained his composure. He studiedas if trying to find something, then looked away.

"Don't jump to conclusions. Since you're helpful to her treatment, whether it's because of you or not, you need to stay with her." Hearing his answer, I sighed, feeling a bit helpless.

It seemed that the reason behind Selena's illness no longer mattered. Zion had no intention of lettingleave until she recovered.

Just then, we heard a sound. Selena rang the bell by her bed. Zion and I rushed over immediately.

Selena closed her laptop, frowning as if she were deep in thought. When she looked up, her eyes were devoid of any of the previous affection she showed toward me. She didn't even sparea glance and looked directly at Zion instead.

"Zion, I need to return to the office to handle sbusiness. Arrange forto get discharged. I'm leaving the hospital tomorrow," she ordered.

After hearing that, Zion outright denied her request.

Selena gazed up, staring at him coldly and reminding him, "Zion, don't forget your position. There are sthings I may let slide, but do not test my limits. My patience has boundaries." She didn't raise her voice. As she was still weak, her words cout rather softly, but they carried a chilling undertone.

Upon hearing that, I could sense Zion's fear. His lips even trembled slightly as he looked at Selena with disbelief.

I knew what surprised him, and even I was taken aback. Selena had gotten genuinely angry.

She rarely got angry and usually couldn't be bothered to pay much attention to other people. Even when e others called her a disloyal, heartless woman, at most, she would give a slight hint of punishment in response instead of getting truly angry. But this time, I could tell she was genuinely upset.

After a few minutes of direct eye mm both. Ziamm contact between them both, Zigmsuddenly looked atas if something had dawned on him. He pointed at me. "If you insist on getting discharged, then Hudson...Hudson will leave you.

"To be honest, Hudson didn't willingly chere to look after you was the one who forced him to stay."
