Chapter 4748
Ding!
At this moment, Darwin's phone suddenly rang.
The ear-piercing ringtone broke the silence of the night, startling Darwin and the higher-ups.
Darwin haphazardly answered the call, and placed the phone beside his ear. His eyes twitched, and the phone soon
fell to the ground.
Quill glanced calmly at him. "What's the matter?"
Darwin's face turned slightly pale.
"Jakai's dead..." he replied, trembling.
'Dead?!'
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtA few simple words were enough to silence everyone. Everyone held their breath-the whole place was emerged in
pin-drop silence.
The higher-ups suddenly looked as if they had been rotting in the ground for three whole days.
Quill, on the other hand, casually held his cup, his arms crossed.
"Chaos is coming to the Golden Sands..."
Early the next morning, Harvey glanced at his phone as soon as he woke up. He saw dozens of phone calls on his
screen.
Harvey calmly called a few of them back, and soon found out about Jakai's death.
He then called Soren to make sense of the situation, then instructed Thomas to take him to the Verdant Funeral
Parlor.
The place was a luxurious funeral parlor with decades' worth of history, located right under Indigo Mountain.
But no matter how fancy it looked, the place's true nature couldn't be changed.
A thick scent of blood wafted over as soon as Harvey got out of the car, making him frown.
Even after being on countless battlefields, he still wasn't used to a sight like this.
He arrived at the morgue by following the signs.
There was a huge workspace for the forensic workers, with a lot of equipment and chemicals all around.
Darwin and Soren were waiting at the entrance. They gave Harvey a mask and a pair of gloves, then signaled for
him to head inside.
There were a lot of storage place for body parts at the side, with a dissection table in the middle of the
room.
A pale corpse could be seen on top of the table, with thick bones and calluses around the hands and feet. The
corpse was none other than Jakai himself.

"Jakai was sent to the hospital yesterday evening," Soren said.
"According to their plan, they'd fly back to the Heaven's Gate to see if they could deal with the situation after
treating Jakai's injuries.
"Jakai had been staying in the intensive care unit, since he was emotionally unstable.
"When the chopper for the Heaven's Gate arrived to take Jakai away, he was found dead on the couch.
"His arteries were destroyed with a single hit from the palm. No other traces could be found."
Soren pointed at Jakai's chest, where a palm print could be seen. It was clear that an expert martial artist had done
this.
"The murderer was strong, probably a peak King of Arms at least.
"It was a clean and decisive hit.
"According to my speculation, Jakai died without getting a chance to fight back."
Soren looked puzzled.
"Who would come all the way here just to kill a cripple? Who would hate Jakai this much...?"
