Chapter 21
The blue Bentley Continental GT, with its unique and stunning color, immediately caught Allison's eye. She really
liked this car.
A man in a suit stepped out with a respectful nod and handed the keys to Allison. "Ms. Allison, this car is a gift
from Mr. Fisher."
Allison took the keys, and her heart stirred a bit. Joshua was indeed generous; this ride cost over half a million
dollars.
"Thank you," Allison said to the man.
"You're welcome. If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way now." The man gave a slight bow, maintaining his
respectful demeanor.
“Alright.”

As soon as he left, Allison's phone buzzed. It was Joshua.
"How do you like the car?" His tone was casual as if he were asking about her lunch.
To him, a half-million-dollar car seemed as ordinary as a head of lettuce at the farmer's market.
In their social circle, gifting such a lavish present to a fiancée was no big deal. Maybe she'd just been living a bit
too modestly these past three years and was out of touch with her original circle, making this surprise feel all the
more surreal.
Allison replied, "I love it. Thank you, Joshua."
"I'm glad to hear that. | remembered you liked blue," Joshua said, his voice deep and smooth, with a hint of
charm.
Allison was a bit taken aback. "How did you know?"
As far as she remembered, she hadn't mentioned her favorite color to Joshua.
Joshua chuckled softly on the other end. "Back when | tutored you, all your notebooks and your pencil case were
light blue."
Allison hadn't expected Joshua to notice such small details.
She did love blue, and the sight of the light blue Bentley had indeed swept her off her feet.
"The moment | saw this car, | knew you'd love it," Joshua said warmly. "Why don't you take it for a spin? It's a
small model, perfect for you."
"Sure, I'll try it in a bit."
After hanging up, Allison sat in the car, not starting the engine right away. She gripped the steering wheel,
emotions swirling inside her.
Allison had a driver's license and had driven quite a bit over the past three years. But she always drove Shawn's
car. Her own car was just sitting there, gathering dust in the underground garage of the Oak Lake villa.
In her three years with Shawn, driving his car often felt more like she was his chauffeur than his girlfriend. Shawn

She'd heard from Shawn's pals that he generously gifted his last girlfriend a BMW worth over a hundred
thousand dollars when they broke up.
Shawn knew her job required a lot of travel—trials, meeting clients, negotiating cases—yet he never offered to
get her a car.
It's not that Allison was pining for his car, but the difference in Shawn and Joshua was crystal clear when
compared side by side. Shawn's affection was really nothing to brag about.
Lost in her thoughts, Allison was jolted back to reality by a shout.
"Wow! This car is gorgeous! | almost bought it myself but couldn't justify the splurge," cKate's voice. Allison
glanced through the window and saw Kate and Shawn approaching.
Kate was taken aback to see her dream car, the icy blue Bentley Continental, parked right outside Shawn's
house. Though her family had longstanding ties with the Reynolds family, they were far from the lavishness of
high society—more of an upper-middle-class household.
