Chris froze for a moment. Upon seeing Olivia like this, all the refusals that had been at the tip of his tongue

“Wait, where?” The moment Jennifer heard Lobster House, she thought she must've misheard.
Stephanie repeated. “Lobster House.”

Jennifer loved their cakes. But damn, they were pricey. Since Stephanie was footing the bill, she was definitely
getting two orders.
The moment Stephanie stepped into the elevator, Jennifer turned to the main office and shouted, “Alright, guys!
Let’s push through tonight. Miss Giovanni is treating us to Lobster House!”
The second everyone heard Lobster House, their eyes lit up. That was a five-star restaurant, not the kind of
place that most people could afford to go.
They already had amazing company perks, and now dinner from Lobster House. The realization set in, and the
office erupted in cheers. People started working even harder, newfound motivation fueling them.

As Stephanie stepped out of the elevator on the ground floor, she nearly bumped into Chris.
She was momentarily stunned, but the next second, she turned and walked right past him as if he didn’t exist.
Chris felt his blood pressure spike. She wasn’t even willing to say a single word to him.
In a flash, he grabbed her slender wrist. “Hold on.”
Seeing him grabbing her wrist again, Stephanie didn’t even bother hiding the disgust in her eyes.
Without hesitation, she lifted her leg and kicked him.
Chris wasn’t quick enough to dodge. Her foot landed squarely on the back of his knee, forcing his leg to buckle. If
he hadn't steadied himself in time, he would've gone straight to the floor.

“Olivia wants to see you.” Chris kept his voice firm.
Stephanie raised an eyebrow. “She does?”
“Yeah. She said she has something important to tell you,” said Chris.
Stephanie let out a short, amused laugh. Then, without another word, she kicked him again. This time, she didn’t
hold back.
Chris let out a pained grunt, feeling as if all the strength had been knocked out of him.
