Chapter 387
Yvonne mited her eyes at him. “Come on, we’re buddies, aren’t we?”
Josiah finally broke into a bright, charming smile.
Yvonne grinned back, saying, “My movie’s out now. I just found out that this place’s in house theater
has the rights to show it. Wanna go watch it?”
“Really?” Josiah chimed in right away. “I’ll book the place asap!”
Yvonne turned to Estelle. “Ms. Macclain, you should join us too!”
Estelle, deep in thought while looking at Josiah, agreed after snapping back to the moment, “Alright!”
Josiah quickly

arranged the screening room, and everyone headed upstairs to watch Yvonne’s
The entire fifth floor of Blue Oasis was dedicated to screening rooms, including private rooms for
couples and small theaters for company team-building events.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtJosiah booked a theater that could accommodate thirty people in six rows of five seats each.
Stepping inside, the arrangements were lavish and cozy, with leather seats, small tables at the front,
and various desserts and beverages set out.
Yvonne motioned for Jonathan to join her in the front, but he had to take a phone call and told them to
go in first.
Yvonne gave him a gentle smile. “I’ll save you a seat. Hurry up!”
Estelle and Magdalen sat in the second-to-last row, with everyone else finding their seats and chatting
excitedly about the movie’s reviews and box office. The atmosphere was buzzing.
Josiah, feeling as if he was being praised along with the movie and Yvonne, quickly shook off the
previous loss to Estelle and became lively once again.
Magdalen, sitting on the side, raised her perfectly made-up eyebrows. “It’s been ages since I last
watched a movie in a theater. This feels so fresh!”
Estelle knew Magdalen was a movie buff, and Morrison even installed a home theater in their house
specifically for her.
She glanced at Magdalen, asking, “Has Morrison reached out to you lately?”
An angry look flashed across Magdalen’s beautiful face. “He went to my house yesterday, told my mom
I was doing him wrong. The nerve of that douche!”
Estelle tried to hold back a laugh. “He probably couldn’t find you and got desperate!”
Magdalen raised an eyebrow. “Well, I’m not going to forgive him this time!”
Just as the two were chatting, the room lights went off, and the movie started playing. People’s voices
gradually hushed.
Estelle’s gaze kept wandering toward the empty seat next to Yvonne, who occasionally glanced back
toward the door.
The movie started, and the whole room darkened, leaving only the flickering light from the screen.
About ten minutes in, Estelle took a lollipop from her bag, unwrapped it and popped it into her
mouth.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmMagdalen turned to look at her. “Give me one, too!”
Estelle rummaged through her bag, which was usually filled with candy but was now short of lollipops.
Right when she found one, the movie got to an exciting part, so she kept her eyes on the screen and
handed the lollipop to Magdalen.
Her fingers touched a slightly cool hand, and it wasn’t until the man’s palm turned to take the lollipop
from her that she realized something was off. Startled, she turned her head sharply and locked gaze
with the man’s deep dark eyes.
The theater was dimly lit, and as the two locked eyes, Jonathan leaned back in his seat and stared at
her intently, his unfathomable eyes filled with deliberately suppressed emotions.
The light from the screen flickered on their profiles as they stared at each other. Time seemed to freeze
in that moment, all their thoughts converging in their shared gaze.
After what felt like an eternity, Estelle forcibly turned her head away and pulled her hand back,
pretending to be calm and continuing to watch the movie while her heart raced.
The man also turned his gaze to the screen, silently unwrapping the lollipop and putting it in his
mouth.
Both quietly sucking on their lollipops, they tried to focus on the movie, but their minds were filled with
turmoil.
