Chapter 370

The fire at Midnight Bar destroyed a room and killed a person.

By the time the police came for the Investigation, everything in the room had turned to ashes, and they

couldn’t find anything.

The identity of the person who died in the fire was quickly discovered. He was the CEO of PureHarvest

Foods in J City, and his name was Christian Greco. When the police investigated him, they found out

that he had come to J City three years ago and didn’t have any relatives in the city.

As they dug deeper, they discovered that the name Christian was also fake!

The police investigated Christian while also looking into the cause of the fire at the Midnight Bar on that

night. The first person to be questioned was Darcey from Midnight Bar.

Darcey was terrified, partly because the person she accompanied every day had died, and partly

because of the lingering fear. If she hadn’t left the room, or hadn’t been entangled by a drunken guest,

would she have been burned to death too?

After a night, Darcey was still pale, and her eyes were full of panic.

Sitting in the private room of Midnight Bar, facing the police officers opposite her, she was shaking,

hands trembling.

The police asked about the situation with Christian, and Darcey shook her head frantically, “I don’t

know, I know nothing. He would ask me and Karla to accompany him whenever he came. He would

occasionally bring guests and ask me and Karla to leave.”

“What about last night? Was there anything unusual?” asked the police.

Darcey tried to think, shook her head, “Nothing unusual.”

The police showed Darcey the surveillance video and pointed to a girl in a lolita uniform with two

ponytails, “Is this you?”

Darcey nodded fearfully, “Yes, that’s me!”

“Why did you leave at that time?” asked the police.

Darcey quickly replied, “My mom called me, and I went out to answer the phone.”

“Show me the call log.”

Darcey showed the police the call log.

The police glanced at it and asked, “You received this call at 10:08, why did you hang up in less than a

minute?”

Darcey hurriedly explained, “I hung up immediately when I didn’t hear my mom talking. I called her

back last night, and she said she was playing cards and might have accidentally touched it.”

“Was there anything unusual in the room before you left?”

Darcey shook her head, “No.”

In the surveillance video, only Darcey and a waiter had entered Room 6616, and the waiter had left

before Darcey. There was no sign of anything unusual in the room at that time.

The ventilation outlet on the ceiling didn’t seem to have been opened either, and no one had gone in

before the fire started. So, did Christian commit suicide in the room?

Darcey cautiously speculated, “Mr. Greco had heart problems. He carried his medicine with him. Maybe

he had a heart attack last night, fell to the floor, and the cigarette he was holding in his hand fell on the

carpet and ignited the fire!”

She then remembered something, “Right, there was alcohol on the carpet last night. It could have

easily caught fire.”

“Why was there alcohol?” asked the police.

“It was spilled when the waitress served it.”

The police nodded, made a note and let Darcey go.

Afterward, the police interrogated Estelle. The alcohol spill incident was confirmed on Estelle, and they

asked if there were any other abnormalities.

As they were questioning her, a policeman came in, glanced at Estelle, and whispered a few words to

the leader.

The leader turned to Estelle with a much gentler attitude and reassured her that it was just a routine

inquiry.

They then let Estelle leave.

When she exited the Midnight Bar, there was even a police officer escorting her downstairs.

As soon as she saw Millard’s car outside, she immediately understood.
