Chapter 1582
After bathing Kya, Emily returned to the room, laid down, and started telling her a bedtime story. Kya nestled into
her arm. With a hint of disappointment in her voice, Kya asked, “Mum, why doesn’t Uncle Charlie come to tell me
stories anymore?”
Emily gently stroked her hair, “Uncle Charlie won’t be coming anymore, try not to think about him.”
Kya was taken aback, and her eyes were quickly filled with tears, “No!”
Seeing Kya like this, Emily felt a pang of pain in her heart. She hugged her tightly and kept comforting her, “I’m

Kya sobbed softly, “I don’t want to forget Uncle Charlie, he’ll come to see me.”
Emily took a deep breath, holding back tears, “I will always be with you.” She believed that Kya would forget
Charlie, and she would too.
Inside the VIP room of Midnight Bar, only Charlie and Jonathan were present. They sat across from each other, with
an array of empty liquor bottles on the table. Charlie was constantly drinking, and Jonathan occasionally took a sip
but mostly played with the lighter in his hand.
The more Charlie drank, the more sober he became. His face grew pale, and he frowned, “Are you here to drink
with me or to show off your love?” Jonathan leaned back on the sofa and lazily said, “What am I showing off?”
Charlie snorted, “I’m here heartbroken, and you’re playing with your love token. Isn’t this showing off? We’re close
friends, can’t you be a little nicer to me?”
Jonathan chuckled, “I could be with my Ella, but I’m here drinking with you. Do you think I’m not good enough to
you?”
Charlie was speechless. Jonathan clinked his glass with Charlie’s and softly said, “Find a solution if you have a
problem.”
“The problem is she doesn’t like me, how do I solve that?” Charlie took a big gulp of his drink, turned to look at the
night outside the window, and said heavily, “Didn’t I treat her well? She’s willing to have a baby for a man she just
met a month ago, why doesn’t she like me?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJonathan closed his eyes for a moment, then finally spoke, “Maybe she has her reasons.”
“She told me herself, she doesn’t like me, and it hurts to be with me.”
Charlie recalled her weeping face, and a pang of pain shot through his heart. He chugged down his drink, trying to
numb himself.
Jonathan was playing with the lighter in his hand, casually saying, “If you’re both in pain, you should break up.”
Charlie clutched his glass tightly and turned to look at Jonathan, “If Estelle said she didn’t like you, would you let
go?”
Jonathan closed his eyes for a moment, “No.”
“Then I won’t either, even if we’re both in pain.” Charlie’s eyes flashed with determination, “Either she likes me, or
she stays with me, Emily has no other choice.” Jonathan closed his eyes again, not saying a word.
