Chapter 1291
Carmella didn’t respond
Victor pressed on, “You mentioned asking Yulia for money, then disappeared. Thought you could dodge me? I can
easily reach out to the Macclain family, you
know.”
Carmella responded sharply. “What are you after? If you annoy the Macclains and they decide I’m no longer
welcome, how will you get your money then?” Pausing briefly, Victor smirked, “Stop pretending. The Macclains are
clearly fond of you. They won’t throw you out.”
Carmella countered. “Being liked isn’t the same as being family. If I cross a line, they might push me away. Look at

With a sly grin, Victor said, “But that’s the thing you aren’t truly one of the Macclains. We, however, are blood. Hand
over their money, and all will be settled.” Carmella rolled her eyes, “Give it to you? They’re even cautious about
me, how am I supposed to give it to you?”
“I’m sure you’ll figure something out” Victor coaxed, “You need to get a handle on the Macclain’s money. I can help.
We’re the real family here.”
Carmella thought for a moment, then slowly said, “I know what to do, but you mustn’t go to the Macclain family, or
we’ll end up with nothing”

“I won’t go, but I’m in dire need of cash now. Give me thirty grand and I won’t bother you!”
Carmella scoffed, “Where do you suppose I get thirty grand from?”
“If you don’t give it to me, I have to keep calling you! Victor said shamelessly
Carmella turned pale with anger, grinding her teeth, “I only have ten grand!”
“That’ll do!” Victor said, satisfied. “Now transfer it to me.”
Carmella hung up, swallowing her resentment and transferred the money to Victor
Despite her hatred for Victor, his words today were a wake-up call. She needs to get her hands on the Macclain’s
money as soon as possible. So even if Bennett and Simone stop liking her, she won’t give a damn.
Estelle and Jonathan spent the afternoon playing tennis with Henson at the sports center.
Not exactly the weekend Jonathan had in mind. When Henson went to the restroom, Jonathan opened a water
bottle for Estelle, “Let’s stop playing, drop Henson off and head home.”

“Im free this afternoon, and what about you?” Estelle took a big gulp of water, her eyes sparkling, and lips moist.
Jonathan’s gaze on Estelle was intense, his eyes reflecting disappointment. “You promised this weekend would be
ours,” he reminded.
Estelle responded with a light smile, “Aren’t we together right now?”
With a longing in his voice, Jonathan drew her close by the waist, “I wanted us to be alone.”
Quickly removing his hand, Estelle glanced nervously around, wary of Henson noticing. “Don’t let Henson catch
that. He might feel left out, and we wouldn’t want to hurt his feelings.”
Jonathan was silent but his thoughts were loud. He really didn’t care for Henson. Henson wasn’t delicate; it was
Jonathan who craved her focus.
When Henson returned from the restroom, Estelle handed Jonathan a water bottle before heading back to the
court. Jonathan drank deeply, but the cold water did little to quell his rising emotions.
