Chapter 1013
Xavier instructed Zachary, “There’s a two-year-old outside, could you rustle up some grub for the kiddo?”
“Sure, no problem!“
Zachary seemed to have put on some weight, his face had lost its previous roughness and become much friendlier.
Xavier turned to Estelle, Let’s chat over there.
Knowing there was a small yard behind the kitchen, Estelle followed Xavier towards it.
The yard was the same as before, but now it was tidy and organized. Roses were planted all around the iron railing.

A sweet osmanthus tree was planted on the left wall, only as thick as an arm, but it was thriving.
Estelle looked around and chuckled, “Did Norah plant all these?”
Xavier sat down on a chair, his voice hoarse but powerful, “Who else? It’s all stuff that girl loves.”
Estelle turned and asked. “Has Norah been working here all these years? Does Jonathan know she’s here?”
Xavier lit a cigarette, and slowly replied, “She only started coming here last year. She helps out on weekends.

instinctively took a step back.
A dog, half the height of a human, came from the corner of the wall, staring at Estelle warily.
Xavier gave a low command. “Back off!”
The dog glanced at Xavier and slowly retreated back to the corner.
Amazed, Estelle turned her head, “Is this the puppy from two years ago?”
Xavier laughed, “Yes, it’s all grown up now. I keep it in the yard so it doesn’t scare people”
Estelle, still a bit scared, didn’t dare to stay in the yard any longer, “I’ll go check on Kya.”
Xavier aware of her fear of dogs, couldn’t help but chuckle. “When are you going to get over this fear of dogs?”
“it’s now a conditioned reflex! Estelle shrugged helplessly,
Xavier said, “You go ahead, I’ll grab a few bottles of booze, and have a few drinks with Manley later”
“Alright

Xavier glanced back at her, casually replied, “Of course, what’s up?”
“Nothing.” Norah’s eyes showed a hint of melancholy
Xavier suddenly remembered, two years ago he had told Norah about his feelings for Estelle. She might have
misunderstood.
As the customers in the restaurant gradually left, Estelle and her group were just starting to eat. They called over
Damian and others to join them around the table
