Chapter 679
The crowd turned their attention toward the pair.
Upon seeing it was Violet, Marguerite rushed forward and immediately positioned herself in front of Violet to
protect her.
"Don't you dare slander her!"
Yuna reacted explosively, "She's your accomplice? Marguerite! What have | ever done to you to make you hate
Marguerite didn't even spare Yuna a glance. Instead, she turned to Violet and asked, "What's really going on? Did
you actually give her vitamins?"
Violet's eyes were wide with fear and helplessness, her gaze filled with an innocence that couldn't be washed
away even if she drowned in the Mississippi River. Her voice trembled as she tried to steady it, "Marguerite,
didn't you askto remind you to take your vitamins? After the tyou specified, | went looking for you with

vitamin... But | swear, it was just a regular bottle of vitamins."
Upon hearing this, Yuna, as if having caught Marguerite's weakness, beceven more agitated. "Did you hear
that? Did you? Even she admits she gavesomething. What more is there to say, Marguerite? She was
following your orders!"
Marguerite felt a headache coming on, "How do hallucinations have anything to do with vitamins?"
"Why would it be vitamins? I say, that was your specially crafted poison! Otherwise, why would | start having
hallucinations out of nowhere? Explain that!"
"| took the svitamins, and I'm fine. How do you explain that?"
"Who knows? It's definitely you! It has to be!"
Yuna was determined to argue, even without reason. Just as she was about to continue her tirade against
Marguerite, Penelope suddenly appeared, wrapping her arms around Marguerite from behind and staring at her
with bloodshot eyes, an eerie smile on her face.
Yuna screamed.
She closed her eyes, hitting herself on the head, but the image of Penelope wouldn't leave her mind! The more
afraid Yuna was of Penelope, the more she resented Marguerite. She didn't care whether Penelope was human or
a ghost; since she was out to get her, she wanted Penelope's daughter to pay the price! "Marguerite! Your heart
is so cold! My mother and | ended up like this because of you! If you hadn't called her while she was driving,
would she have had that accident? This is all because of you! You're a jinx! You jinxed my mom, and you've
jinxed our entire family!"
Yuna's words were incredibly provocative, and being a bereaved family member, the crowd was inclined to see
her as a victim. Whispers broke out among the guests.
"What a tragedy! To think Penelope's death was indirectly caused by Marguerite!"
"Indirectly nothing! If she hadn't called Penelope, would Penelope have died? She's the murderer!"

"Marguerite is truly malevolent! She caused Penelope's death, and now she's poisoning Yuna! Truly, hell hath no
fury like a woman scorned."
The murmurs around Marguerite were unbearably loud, and her heart sank. She would rather be misunderstood
and questioned than have this unfold at Penelope's funeral! Filled with shand self-reproach, she was
at a loss for words.
Robert stepped in to protect Marguerite, arguing, "My mom's death has nothing to do with Marguerite! Stop
causing trouble here for no reason!"
Yuna was furious. "Brother! Your sister is me, not her! Why do you always defend her? On the day mom had the
accident, | saw the police take her away! You say mom's death has nothing to do with her, but where's your
proof?"
Just then, a file was thrown at Yuna, hitting her squarely. Fuming, Yuna was determined to confront whoever
dared to throw something at her! But as she turned, she locked eyes with Frederick's piercing gaze.
"Freddie?"
"Does a police clearance not count as evidence?"
