Yvette hurriedly said, "I'll go take care of Gideon now. Where are you headed?" "Home, obviously. But aren't you going to showthose pictures you just took? Can I guess who you sent them to? Was it Silas? Oh? Trying to stir up trouble betweenand Silas, are you?" Calliope took a step closer to Yvette, her tone sharp and challenging.

Yvette shivered, looking downright creeped out. "You've got it all wrong. I didn't take any pictures. Why would I want pictures s of you two?" "Didn't you say you were heading to the restroom? So what are you doing here, then?" "I..." Yvette swallowed hard, her mind racing. She cursed silently. How on earth did Calliope know she'd taken a photo? Not just that, she knew it was sent to Silas.

She'd only just messaged him. There's no way Silas could have told her already. And when she'd snapped the picture, Calliope's back had been to her. Did the woman have eyes in the back of her head or something? The more Yvette thought about it, the less she understood. She frowned, eyeing Calliope suspiciously. Calliope raised an eyebrow. "Hand over your phone. Con, you already sent the picture. What's the point in keeping it now?" She didn't wait for Yvette to respond. With a quick movement, she snatched the phone right out of Yvette's hand.

Calliope unlocked the phone with Yvette's face, then scrolled through the photos.

"So, all you got was a shot ofbringing Gideon lunch. Honestly, our family doesn't even use such cheap takeout boxes." Calliope's lips curled into a smirk. "Letask you something." "What?" Yvette felt like she was staring down a wolf. Calliope was radiating danger.

"Who do you think Silas is going to believe,or you?" Calliope's smirk deepened. "Here's an idea. Let's è keep your little stunt a secret. What do you think Silas will do toif he gets this picture without knowing it was you who sent it?" Yvette stared at her, confused, feeling a knot of anxiety tighten in her chest. She just didn't get Calliope, and that made her nervous.

Calliope tossed the phone back to her and strolled away without another word.

Yvette breathed a massive sigh of relief. At least she hadn't seen the chat with Silas.

Men could be so possessive. If Silas got that picture, there'd be no talking Calliope out of trouble, no matter what she said.

In Yvette's mind, Calliope was toast And yet, she'd acted so cocky, so sure of herself, as if Silas would take her side. But no guy would believe her in a situation like this.

Yvette narrowed her eyes, already plotting. She wondered if Silas would ask to meet up. If he did, she'd make sure to turn on the charm.

Feeling pretty pleased with herself, Yvette headed to Gideon's hospital room.

Gideon glared at her, his tone biting, "Where'd you go? Did you fall into the toilet or something?"

Yvette glanced in disgust at the mess on the floor. "Gideon, you never used to be like this. Honestly your@just gross now. was giving you achance to spend twith Calliope. You could at least thankinstead of acting like this!"

"Oh, please." Gideon snorted. "Since when are you so generous What's e your angle?
